We stayed here for a week toward the end of May, 2024, using L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue as a base from which to explore Provence and the Luberon hilltop towns. Our room was perhaps the largest in the relatively small B & B, with a large outdoor patio on the second floor overlooking the peaceful garden. I do not think I have ever stayed in a nicer place. Quiet, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated in a minimalistic style, with an amazingly comfortable bed, large bathroom, and an endless supply of closets and drawers, this place is the best. The owner, Gwen, is remarkably attentive, offering suggestions for all of our queries. Ingrid and Michelle provided us with wonderful breakfasts each day. From there, we visited the Luberon, especially enjoying the less visited towns of St.Saturnyn-les-Apt for a hike up to the chapel, Oppedes, to view a town once deserted, and Minerbes. The more crowded towns of Gordes and Rousillon are very interesting also. We visited Arles, St. Remy, and strolled along the Pont du Gard, all worthwhile. Driving is a little tricky in the area and in the hilltop towns for sure. Parking and walking to the towns is the best idea. I would suggest renting the smallest car you can tolerate! Bigger is not better in this area. We rented our car at the high speed train station in Avignon. Parking was relatively easy and free near the B&B and several days we were able to park in the driveway, depending on how many guests were staying there. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a beautiful town, with canals of the Sorgue river running through the relatively small old central cty. There are plenty of good restaurants that we walked to, and active market days twice a week. Things were pretty quiet on Mondays in town, with fewer open shops and restaurants.
