I had my wedding on 6th June 2024. Katy and David were on hand to help and could not have done enough! The whole day was amazing and everything ran so smoothly. This venue definitely smashes the whole wedding vibe! My day was the best ever. I highly recommend booking your wedding here!

Held my daughter's wedding there on 6.6.24 and it was fantastic. The whole day was made so enjoyable by the high standard of organisation by the staff, who were excellent and a credit to the hotel. Courteous, smartly dressed and extremely helpful in anything you asked them to do. We would recommend this hotel for any occasion. Once again, well done to all the staff for making our youngest daughter's day so fantastic.

We bought SK Chase Vouchers for overnight stay with Dinner and Cream Tea for two. £185 was the cost. My late mother left a small amount of money to get my aunt and uncle an overnight stay. We bought a voucher as well so we could stay overnight as well, my aunt had her 80th Champagne and afternoon tea for her and family and friends and enjoyed it so hence we picked The Balbirnie House. The total cost for 2 sets of vouchers was £370. We did not realize they had a expiry date of the end of March 2024. This is my fault for not fully reading the terms & conditions. My Uncle had to go into hospital for a major operation so we decided to wait until after this and when he was back on his feet. I looked at the vouchers and noticed the date had passed and we were into April, so because I have 9 years as a manager in hospitality I wrote a nice email to Angela Ferguson explaining what had happened and the reasons for this, we were not excepting to have the same as the voucher because these things are costed accordingly, but there was no compromise or indeed any empathy shown for the circumstances. I then asked who can I escalate this to, Nicolas Russell who is the owner, I emailed him explaining all of the circumstances thinking well he is the owner he will show a bit of compassion for our situation. The previous statement how wrong could you be, he showed us nothing but contempt, once your vouchers have expired they have expired end of story. I informed him I have given your hotel business in the past and I could stay just now for £100, I explained I bought one set of vouchers with money my mum left my auntie and uncle I even offered to have overnight stay and a small discount from our food bill and forget the cream tea on arrival. There is no way the hotel I worked for in St Andrews would treat anyone like this. I will leave you with this final comment from a so called owner of a hospitality business, I had to stop sending anymore emails as I have taken up enough of his management teams time. So please think twice before booking anything with this establishment because if things change or don't go according to plan you will get no sympathy.

Wouldn't go back, disgrace that a country hotel charge you for parking, where is the disabled parking?? forgot its used for the Teslers they own, such a shame they don't care about there customers. Meal was not the best for the price we paid, have been here many times In the past but this will be the last.

Stayed for a weekend for family wedding. On arrival the location and first impression were good. We stayed in the triplex apartment which I felt rather dated compared to the other rooms. The apartment consisted of living area on top floor with a WC . Down some rather steep stairs ( be careful if toddlers or less mobile) to three bedrooms. Main room with en-suite with kitchenette! Which consists of empty cupboards ( no crockery or fridge etc) the large double has no main lights( only beside lamps, so not the best) family room with bunk bed and two single beds and large storage area with hanging rail. Main bathroom had no plug for bath and very little pressure in shower. Was a little chilly at times. Apartment door didn’t lock either. No phone in rooms either. Breakfast and bar food expensive for the product of food received which also includes the wedding meal.(had better at chain pubs) Car park charges are a little shocking as supermarkets have better car parking facilities. Would I return, no sadly as I don’t think it’s worth the money. Also was card payment only, bar staff were pouring the dearest drink option, and bar/lounge area is all separate which ended up not having everyone together to meet. Also There were steak knives left in hallway coming up from downstairs area past the breakfast area ( not exactly the safest) Wedding meal did come out quickly but was very dry and bland with practically raw veg.

All I can say is WOW! My partner and I stayed at this glorious hotel and had the most incredible evening. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warm hospitality. We stayed in a lovely room with a beautiful large four poster bed which overlooked the stunning outdoor lawns of the hotel. We enjoyed some incredible drinks in the Library Bar which is a beautiful and one of a kind room before heading out to the gardens to sit in the lovely sunshine. We had dinner in The Orangery and this was a superb meal. We won't lie, at first we were hesitant as we are only plain eaters but this menu looked incredible and tasted even better! All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, we cannot thank them enough as they truly made our stay! We paid for parking which was £10.00 for an overnight stay which we found to be completely reasonable at such a stately house. We live in Edinburgh and my partner has previously worked in hospitality so to charge for parking is absolutely something we can understand and find this to be totally within reason. We cannot thank the entire team enough and so looking forward to planning our next night away at Balbirnie House!

Being local my family and I have eaten at this hotel on many occasions, including Xmas and had friends booked to stay over. I would say the food is decent, but not Michelin Star standard and the staff pleasant and helpful. However, for the prices charged on the menu, which are not cheap (£5 for chips on the side, which is even more expensive than the famous Ivy in London) I would strongly suggest it is just pure greed by the owner to charge for parking. Even Witherspoons in Glenrothes town centre let you park for free if you are patronising them. Finally let’s all hope the Supermarkets don’t take a leaf out of the Balbernie hotel’s way to fleece the public in an effort to increase profit.

Have visited Balbirnie many times and keep going back. The food, as always, was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed. Great value for money too. Staff were knowledgable about the produce and attentive to our needs. Looking forward to going back.

Very Conflcted... We have visiseted Balbirnie Hotel, many times over the last several years, mostly dining (maybe once every 8/12 weeks, ) occasionally overnight staying with family, even dining their with the whole family on Christmas Day ( 16 of us ish) ... now can I say .. food is good, service generally very good, pricing .. definitely worth the money (generally) So what's the issue... We were gifted a voucher for overnight accommodation, breakfast and dinner from close friends, unfortunately my wife is now going though some intrusive medical treatments, and we were unable to accommodate the vouchers deadlines.. when we contacted the hotel... (well within deadlines) absolutely no empathy, no understanding... basically told .. be there on lose it.. we could not accommodate.. so lost it since this we have been contacted by a member of the Scottish Press, specifically on this ... after discussing, we decided not to comment... We've had a lot of good experiences at the hotel, weddings, dinners, lunches and occasionally overnights, but sorry, we'll not be back
