If a serene morning with a cup of coffee on the porch is what you are looking for, you will be out of luck at this place. The workers start maintance, EVERY MORNING!!, at 8 am!!! Leaf blowers on the porches, electric saw cutting trees..... you name it! Peace comes at night when they go home. I had to stop them from blowing on my porch at 8:15 am despite my sign door hanging. I sincerely don't know what's worse, this or staying at the contemporary when chef mickey employees sing every 30 +- minutes echoing through the walls in the bedrooms starting at , what feels like, sunrise with the roosters. Disney GET BETTER!!!

The new refreshed cabins are just the ticket! Plenty of room with double bathroom sinks. One inside and one in the hall combined with a very large shower are just what was needed to get ready in record time. Plenty of sleeping space for your group but be aware the bunks at not really adult friendly. The murphy bed is a nice addition but makes the sofa sit low and really firm. The kitchen has everything you need stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and coffeemaker. Bed was comfortable and house keeping prompt. Now the downside. Not much space to park your vehicle should you arrive by car. The drainage at our site was not very good. Trying to walk through 4" of standing water to get to the deck was a challenge. Ask for a inside the loop cabin the drainage looked much better! Took several days to get the resort mugs as Disney screwed this up at check in. All in I would stay there again!

We recently stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness and absolutely loved the experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing, nature-filled break from the parks—but still want all the Disney perks—this is it. The cabins themselves are great. Ours was in loop 2500, and I’d highly recommend it. Newly renovated, very clean, and surprisingly roomy. Our cabin (2517) was a real gem—well-shaded, super private, and backed up to a peaceful little creek with no cabins behind us. It felt like our own quiet retreat in the woods. Getting Around Pro tip: Rent a golf cart. Fort Wilderness is massive, and the cart makes getting around not just easier but way more fun. While internal buses exist, a cart gives you the freedom to explore on your own time. You’ll especially appreciate it when heading to the pools, Settlement, or boat dock. Groceries & Dining We used Walmart+ for grocery delivery, and it worked out perfectly. Bell Services handled everything, and it saved us a bundle—easily 50% or more versus buying food and drinks at Disney prices. Dining at Fort Wilderness was also better than expected. The Settlement and had some solid food options, including family-size meals like fried chicken, BBQ, and hearty sides you can take back to the cabin. Great for a relaxed night in without cooking. Recreation & Activities Pools: Plenty of options. Each loop has its own smaller pool nearby, which is great for quick dips. The larger main pool at the Meadow is kid-friendly with more energy and activity, including a waterslide. Horseback riding: A big hit—laid-back, well-run, and perfect for both new and experienced riders. Chip & Dale Campfire Sing-Along: A great evening experience. Our daughters loved meeting Chip and Dale, and the vibe is classic Disney charm with a rustic twist. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue: Still one of the best dinner shows on property. Great food, great fun, and something every Disney fan should experience at least once. It's not cheap, but a must do if you staying at the camp grounds. Getting to the Parks Fort Wilderness does offer boat service to Magic Kingdom, which is scenic and peaceful. Just one heads-up: if you park your golf cart at the boat dock and later park hop to another park, you’ll have to take the bus back from the front of the campground to retrieve your cart. Not a deal-breaker, but worth planning around. A Few Minor Drawbacks Transportation outside Fort Wilderness can be a little sluggish. Fewer buses seem to serve this resort, and some routes are shared with Wilderness Lodge, making trips to certain parks longer. Underage golf cart drivers. Disney rules say drivers must be 18+, but enforcement is spotty. We saw kids behind the wheel. It didn’t impact us directly, but it’s something to be aware of. Bottom line: Fort Wilderness is ideal for anyone looking to unwind and still stay close to the magic. It’s a true “Disney glamping” experience—relaxed, scenic, and full of charm, with all the comforts of home and just enough pi

If your looking for a hotel - Fort Wilderness is not for you. If you're looking for a nice escape from the parks, a beautiful wooded area, horses, fun activities, the joy of driving a golf cart, and a nicely appointed cabin- you are at the right place. I love riding around in the golf cart! People are always friendly here and we love Hoop Dee Doo Revue and riding the boats to MK, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness. A good thing to know is that many people staying here have been coming for years - they can help you with anything Disney related. : )

Really nice cabins. We would stay there again. Only downside is their out of the way location from the parks. There are no washers or dryers in the cabins, but are at the pool which is a short walk. Nice and quiet with no crowds after being at the parks.

We camped there for spring break. What a expensive waste of money. We will stick to county /state parks. The employees at DFW need to be trained better. They should warn you about the construction and poop 💩 smell in the loops. They have a sewage issue Pools are dirty The employee who checked us in to the site, really didn’t know what she was doing, she needs more training. We didn’t get to enter water park bc the employee at Disney ft wilderness didn’t check us in properly. The golf cart we rented for$150 quit working, i called they said they will send a tech to look at it. Never showed. Waited and waited, called again and still never showed up. We just charged the battery and returned the golf cart next day. The employees didn’t seem to care. Couldn’t get a refund. Tried to dispute it and they Win. We will never rent a cart from them again mostly likely never camp there again.

Our favorite campground in all the USA. There are so many activities here that just aren't available anywhere else. Free boat rides to the parks, free bus transportation, horseback rides, pony rides, the list goes on. The sites are nice, with varying levels of sizes and hookups cable TV is good, but the internet depends on which loop you get, some are being upgraded and have fast speeds, others it is useless. Bring your A game when backing into your spot, some of them are kind of tight!

They put us in a site that was not large enough for our rv and it was noisy with hardly any trees. We could not open our slide. We requested to b moved so went from 600 loop to 1300 loop. site is okay and has trees. But early this morning woke to them cutting down trees noisy and not peaceful. The whole campground is under construction everywhere u look forget about going on bike path there is not one and we loved going watching the deer . I am sure they have vacated the area due to all of construction. Hardly any beach left either. Frankly put this is the most unmagical place I have been. Here for my son’s birthday but doubtful I will b back anytime soon. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that all of this construction was going on. So if u have a trip planned here u might want to rethink if u r looking for a peaceful camping experience.
