We arrived at 2pm, and the room wasn’t ready. That’s ok, things happen, so we came back an hour later at owners request. When we walked in a strong smell of bleach filled the room. We thought ok, at least it’s clean. However, once the floors dried and the bleach smell dissipated, the smell of urine filled the air. We then noticed the floor beside the toilet was uneven, dangerous looking and very stained. Soon further inspection there was brown gunk in bathroom cupboards. Old spilled milk in fridge and mould around windows and vents. Stains on linen, and a used tissue in wardrobe. The oven looked like it had never been cleaned. The kitchen bench water damaged and lifting next to the oven. The TV had no reception. And it wasn’t the kitchen sponge and dishcloth’s first rodeo. The mould smell from under the sink almost took over the smell of urine when opened. We left after 10 mins, emailing the owner and saying we weren’t staying due to the cleanliness of the room. He offered to change rooms but no refund. After pursuing things further he offered us a $10 agoda credit. I’ve never seen such disregard for cleanliness in accommodation in Australia.
