Taufua Beach Fales

When you first arrive at Taufua Beach Fales you are greeted by friendly staff, amazing views of the beach and absolute bliss!! We had a group of 11 for one night. A fale stay is an absolute must when visiting Samoa. We opted for closed fales this time but the open fales are just as comfortable. Local food was amazing and there’s plenty to go around!! Plenty of opportunity for swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing on the shore. We will definitely be back!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Taufua beach fale. It must be one of the most beautiful locations in Samoa. The beach and sea are heavenly. It has a great vibe and we enjoyed getting to know the staff. Breakfast and dinner are served at long shared tables and it was an unexpected highlight meeting and talking to other guests at mealtimes. We had emailed before booking to see whether they could cater to vegan diets and they happily did. The food was simple and delicious. I would 100% return to this little piece of paradise.

This was our first time staying at Taufua and it was exceptional! To anyone visiting Samoa, you must stay here! We sadly only had 2 nights but will definitely come back and stay for longer. If you are there on a Wednesday or Saturday, there is dancing which was a ton of fun. Additionally, all of the meals are served family style which was a great way to meet lots of other travelers not to mention the food was filling and delicious! Highly recommend this place for the unique experience and their hospitality!

Don’t look any further, that’s the place to be on Upolu. At first sight, the Fales are a bit too close to each other and a bit too close to the road. But the awesomeness of the place will unfold soon: the food is among the best you can get along the south coast (try the Samoan poke!!!), snorkeling and swimming is pretty good and spending a few nights in the open fale is quite an experience. What else? We were extremely surprised when the hosts made all of us guests sit together on a long table for breakfast and dinner (what about privacy on our vacation?!), BUT this turned out being an awesome bonding-experience with all the other guests as you immediately start chatting and share more than just the usual “where are you from?, how long in Samoa?” The dancing/show night at first felt a little tacky, but after having experienced an island show in Apia afterwards, we are so much more grateful of the experience at Taufua Beach Fales. I (22yo) stayed with my mother (in her fifties) for two nights at Taufua. During our two nights here, we met some of the loveliest people - both guests and staff. A special mention to Lēafē, one of the staff - such a cheerful, helpful and fun person! I feel very lucky to have made a friend in Lēafē. Our highlight was the morning breakfasts and dinners of an evening. Eating communally was an excellent opportunity to meet fellow travellers and share stories, and there was always a huge amount of yummy food! We stayed in both an Beachfront open fale, and an Aircon Ensuite Standard villa. I loved the fale and my mum loved the villa - so both are good choices depending on your preference. The fale was a magical experience - the floor mat and mattress were both very comfy and the location was unlike anywhere we had ever stayed before - breath taking! The villa had comfy beds, excellent views and the walk up to the villa was luscious and green! Our advice - bring a book, a towel, sunglasses and an excitement to meet people! If you are after an authentic, homely experience with lots of swimming and mingling - this is the place for you.
