The location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view.
It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark.
The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable.
She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

Booked this homestay online. When we got there, the hostess and the owner were very welcoming. They made tea for us because we were early and the room was still being cleaned. The hostess also helped us carry our luggage upstairs. You can see the sunrise and sunset on the roof of her house. It was too cold on the day we went there, so we didn't see it. We regretted it and will come back next time. 😃😃 The hostess had already prepared breakfast for us when we woke up in the morning. Thank you very much🙏🏻 I will stay here again next time if I have the chance
