As soon as we entered the building we were welcomed with a smile and a warm friendly lady. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. Stayed in room 15 this has a fantastic view and the room is just lovely and clean. One of the best rooms we have stayed in, even has a welcome basket with 2 bottle ales, 2 waters and snacks. Robes and slippers included. It also has a podded coffee machine! Had food both nights and breakfast on both days, all the food was well presented and delicious. One night the restaurant was fully booked but made sure they fitted us in as they prioritize residents. Overall would highly recommend this hotel and would 100% come back.

My fiancé and I visited The Black Horse during our first evening in Grassington & dined in the Morral Restaurant. What a great start to the holiday! The food was delicious (& reasonably priced) and staff were very friendly & helpful. We will definitely visit again. *****

Popped in the black horse yesterday on our 1940s trip to Grassington and so glad that we did! The staff were absolutely fabulous especially our waitress (I think she was called Amelia but brain fog at the moment and might be wrong) 😕. She was so friendly, funny and helpful - such a pleasure to have her serving our table and a credit to the restaurant. The food was also amazing. We all had the Swaledale sausages with mash - delicious. Followed by 2 portions of the salted caramel cheesecake which tasted gorgeous. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a visit.

This hotel should have been higher than 2. It was in a great location, cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, when we arrived in our room we found the cleaner had left dirty towels on the bathroom floor; we did get a drink on the hotel for this, but it left us wondering how thorough the rest of the cleaning was. I found the beds and pillows were lumpy, but the main thing for me was the noise. There was a loud droning noise (as if someone had left the bathroom fan on) which we were told was coming from the kitchen extractor fan. We are not stay out late people and seen as the fan didn’t go off until 10.30 pm it was somewhat unpleasant. To add to this the room was hot and although we were provided with a fan, this was also very noisy ( I can usually sleep ok with fans). The alternative was to open the window, but then there was noise of people, including staff cleaning up, banging bins and shouting at each other (room 8) . We were provided ear plugs to help sleep, but I find these uncomfortable and If id have been told this at the time of booking I would not have booked. We did mention it to reception in the morning and she did move our rooms (room 1) . Great we thought, but we were wrong … this time noise from the bar (live music, people talking/shouting and the hand drier from the toilet) also people coming up and down the stairs. To put this in prospective my sister is hearing impaired and she struggled with the noise. The food was average with my goats cheese burger consisting of a big lump of cheese, about 2 small mushrooms and one lettuce leaf. We chose to eat out on the second night. This was a deal price and I guess you get what you pay for, but for me a waring you need ear plugs is needed and then you can make a choice if to book. Other rooms might not have a problem with the noise.

Having recently stayed at The Black Horse Hotel just wanted to thank all the staff , a big shout out to Phoebe for making it extra special and not forgetting Zoe and Amelia. We will be back. A lovely hotel , nice bedroom and the restaurant food was lovely. All we can say is, try it. 👍

We stayed at the Black Horse for 2 nights on a deal whereby the second night was free. The hotel is right in the centre of beautiful Grassington with all its amenities and walks nearby. We were in Room 15 which was a premium king with views. The room was on the 2nd floor looking down towards the main square. There wasn’t a lift. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were big and fluffy. The room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed and we particularly loved the complimentary extras like the beers, popcorn, crisps and the homemade shortbread. The room had a nice bathroom with large shower and even had a window, which was great for natural light and fresh air. I think it would’ve been better if we could’ve adjusted the room temperature ourselves but apart from that we had no complaints. The view of the sun setting from our room was amazing. The restaurant was called the Morral and the pre order breakfast was delicious and served promptly. We ate dinner there both nights and the food and service were very good. We really enjoyed the Thursday burger night where you could have burgers for 2 people for £25. They were very tasty and great value. We can’t wait to visit the Black Horse again.

Lovely restaurant inside a lively pub . Great menu ! The food was lovely , hot delicious and well presented . We ordered a side of buttered green vegetables to go with our meals and it was a very generous portion indeed more than enough for two . We had the chocolate and blackberry desert which was absolutely delicious and one of the best deserts we have had . Highly recommended! The service was excellent and the ambience in the restaurant was good .

Food and service was excellent, price was slightly over what you would expect, but not ridiculous at all. The Hotel is nicely decorated and very clean, with a lovely dining area and a nice outside space at the front that is an early evening sun trap.
