The hotel is on the first line by the sea, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. The location is great, but be prepared to leave a 100 RM deposit at check-in

Review for Malibest Resort Great beachfront location, but very basic facilities I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The biggest advantage of this place is definitely its location. The hotel is literally right on the beach and situated in one of the most convenient areas of Langkawi. It’s only about 10–15 minutes from the airport and within easy walking distance of many restaurants, cafés, shops, and convenience stores. The hotel staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful, which made the stay more pleasant and welcoming. However, there are some noticeable issues with housekeeping. Although the room looks generally clean at first glance, the cleaning standards could definitely be improved. During my three-night stay, the bed sheets and duvet covers were not changed and were mostly just rearranged. The bathroom also appeared to be rinsed rather than properly cleaned. The breakfast is quite simple and limited, so it’s better not to expect much from it. Overall, considering the price, the hotel offers reasonable value mainly because of its excellent beachfront location. If you choose to stay here, it’s best to think of it as a simple place to sleep rather than a full-service hotel with high standards.

This hotel is close to a nice beach and also has a swimming pool. However, the rooms are quite bad – old and outdated, and the air conditioning wasn't working well. The front desk service was also mediocre. There were two staff members; I was in line, but one of them kept ignoring me until a foreigner came up, and then immediately asked them if they needed anything.

The hygiene was so-so, and the pool was very slippery. You absolutely must keep an eye on your kids – safety first! On the bright side, the location was very close to the sea.

Environment: If you're particular about hygiene, look elsewhere. The bedsheets had numerous unwashable yellow stains. Even with my clothes on and using a disposable sheet, I still got several bites on my legs. Thankfully, the price was good enough to overlook it, just for a quick wash and rest. Convenience: The room numbers weren't actual numbers but confusing English names. No one showed us to our room; the front desk staff just waved their hand towards a row of cabins and told us to find it ourselves. My partner and I spent an hour searching on the beach. Soundproofing: There's virtually no soundproofing. I could hear the rustling sound of slippers from the next door walking. Just as I fell asleep at night, someone started setting off 300 firecrackers on the beach. The air conditioning was as noisy as an exhaust fan. Surroundings: The Maybank ATM didn't support UnionPay, and it weirdly couldn't recognize my Mastercard either. The deposit required 100 in cash, but they actually charged 113.

I booked a stay at Malibest Resort hoping for a relaxing beachfront getaway, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The property feels very dated and appears not to have been renovated for a very long time. Overall hygiene levels were quite low, which was a major concern. The staff at the front desk were not friendly and did not make us feel welcome at all. The resort's only significant advantage is its location right on the beach. However, this comes with a major flaw: there is no proper washing area or foot shower after coming from the sand. As a result, the hotel lobby, elevator, and hallways were constantly covered in sand, making the interior feel dirty and unkempt. The beach itself was poorly organized. There was no clear separation between swimming areas, water activity zones, and restaurant spaces. This created a safety hazard, as boats and jet skis sped very close to swimmers. Furthermore, restaurants placed their tables directly on the sand, and we often encountered food scraps and leftovers while trying to relax on the beach. I cannot recommend this resort in its current state. It needs significant investment in renovations, a thorough cleaning overhaul, and better management of its beachfront to ensure guest safety and comfort.

This trip to Langkawi, I stayed at two hotels. The first night was at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, where I was assigned a room at the very end of the hallway and encountered all sorts of issues. It wasn't as good value for money as the Marina hotel. At Marina, I chose a room with a sea view, while at Pelangi, I could only see a utility pole (haha). Minor issues at Marina were: the hairdryer had to be picked up from the front desk and could only be used for 2 hours; the air conditioning wasn't very effective; and the towels were quite old. I'm not sure if it was a Ctrip issue, but I was again placed in the corner room on this floor… Luckily, I could still see the sea. It was advertised as 21 square meters, but it felt larger than the 25 square meter room I had in Kuala Lumpur. Luggage storage is available next to the check-in counter; there's a door, you just open it yourself and call someone. Breakfast was just okay. Also, according to Xiaohongshu, the pool has been repaired, so guests might want to check it out.

Cheap, good location, and the hygiene was just okay. The hotel is right in front of Pantai Cenang public beach.

The location of the hotel is amazing, very close to the beach just walk 1 minute. All the restaurants and shops are nearby but I didn’t like the cleanliness. I suggest to take your disposable bed linen which I did and felt more comfortable. The towels also look not clean enough anyway I had no chance but to use. One more thing I advice always lock all your important things before you live the room as according to my experience when I was back from my tour in the afternoon I found my door is left opened; they entered my room, put 2 bottles of water, folded my old wet towels and put on my bed, even didn’t change and didn’t clean the bathroom.

Facilities: The facilities are like a guesthouse from 10 years ago in China. Hygiene: The hygiene is terrible. We found cockroaches, and there were hairs on the bedding. Service: There was no service to speak of. Environment: The hotel's location on Langkawi's famous Cenang Beach is good. We booked a deluxe twin room. On the first night, they assigned us this extremely bad room on the first floor. There were four air conditioners above the room, and they made a huge roaring noise all night long. My family and I barely slept that night. In the morning, we even found two large cockroaches. This was unbearable. Finally, after communicating with Trip.com's customer service, they moved us to a room on the second floor, which was slightly better. Overall, everything about this place was bad.

Right on Cenang Beach and only a ten-minute drive from the airport, this hotel is surrounded by plenty of tourists and small shops. You can enjoy breakfast right by the sea, which is a nice touch. The rooms have a mini-fridge and a hot water kettle, which is decent for the area compared to other local hotels. However, the front desk service was quite cold, and the room itself felt more like a dorm room – very basic and a bit shabby. Good thing we only booked for one night. It was clean, though. The swimming pool is actually quite small. As for the price, it's hard to say whether it's good or bad – it's somewhere in the middle. This place is probably best suited for those on a budget who want to be close to the lively beach and just need a place to sleep after being out all day. If you're looking for more comfort, you might want to find a hotel with better room decor. Cenang Beach has a whole row of hotels and bars, with options for all price ranges.

Beautiful location, one side see view, the other site of the hotel Main Street with lots of shops. Staff very helpful. Ideal stay for families as most rooms are connected with internal door. If you stay single or couples strongly recommend to get non connected rooms to avoid the noise from next door neighbours. Staff were very helpful to change my room and my friend room to non connected types. Location is the best one in the area.
