10 members of a motorcycle club visited Clancy's for one night. Clancy's is listed as a 2 star Hotel in the guidebook. Our room was homely compared to other more modern hotels but very comfortable. It had tea and coffee together with a lovely modern bathroom. Loads of hot water for the shower, no bath. We had dinner in the downstairs restaurant, which was excellent. The hotel doesn't have an alcohol licence, but there is a pub across the road. I walked over and brought a pint of Guiness back with me. Some of the others bought wine on the way. I think the restaurant charges a corkage fee of €5. The pint was €5. The hotel is in an isolated place on a busy main road, but there was no problem with traffic noise. After dinner we went over to the pub which is very traditional with Irish music in one of the bars. We had a great night interacting with local residents. Breakfast was as good as the dinner. Jim, the owner, couldn't do enough for us. He has a BMW RT himself. There are two big sheds/garages which stored all of our bikes. Overall a great night.

Excellent accommodation for my visit to Neven Maguire cookery school, only 10 min away. Clean, warm room with TV, tea/coffee facilities and very good (looks fairly new) ensuite with excellent shower. Jim (the host) was exceptionally friendly, helpful and obliging.

Jim and the whole team are so warm and welcoming this is Irish hospitality at its very best. Great rate of €150 euro for lovely room 8 and lovely Irish breakfast. Car parking simple as over the road.

Stayed in this lovely establishment with a family group of nine adults. The occasion was for a surprise birthday celebration for one of the family in Nevin Maguires restaurant in Blacklion. Our host, Jim, in the accommodation, couldn't do enough for us. Our room was spotless, spacious, large wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities with lovely China cups and saucers. The ensuite looked newly decorated. Very comfortable bed. Jim drove us to the restaurant and back which was six car journeys as there were nine of us and refused to accept payment for same. My husband and I didn't have breakfast but the rest of our party did and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The room decor may be a bit old fashioned for some but it wasn't an issue for us. Great hospitality at a great price. Ample parking also and shop and post office attached to the guesthouse. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. Also there is a great wee pub called McHughs across the road run by a lovely couple. Thank you again Jim.

Myself and my family a group of 6 adults and 4 children stayed in Clancy's of Glenfarne for one night. Jim and all of the staff were so lovely. The rooms were spotless clean and had all amenities needed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this spot and we will be back again.

We stayed here as we were eating at MacNean House. Jim the owner was so welcoming and friendly. He drove us to the restaurant and collected us again when we were finished. All part of the service they provide. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had a great night's sleep. Delicious hearty breakfast the next morning in the restaurant, which was a busy spot with guests and local's alike. We visited McHugh's Pub across the road from the accommodation and we had a great time. Super friendly staff and local's. I must give a shout out to Barbra who was behind the bar. An absolute lady. A must visit. Kerina and Niall from Kerry

Rip-off Ireland is alive and well. We stayed in this B&B for 1 night and was charged 160 euro. The room decor belonged to the 1970s, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were also uncomfortable. No drinking water was supplied. Did not have time to have breakfast, so we cannot comment on it. But for 160 euro, it was completely overpriced. We are staying tonight in Barberstown Castle in Straffan. Although he room costs 65 euros more, there is no comparison. The room at Barberstown is sumptuous and about twice the size of the room in Clancys. It has a 4-poster King size bed and up-to-date beautiful decor. It also has a 3 seater settee and a writing desk plus a large TV. The bathroom is also double the size and we have access to all of the hotel facilities. Need we say more?

We tried hard with this hotel. They’re renovating and should have just said that or closed during our renovations. Our first clue should have been when we were shown to our room and were told they were renovating and we didn’t have towel bars. That was the least of the issues. No towel bars, bathroom mirror resting on the sink, internet was marginal when it worked, heater didn’t work, no hot water exposed wires on wall in the bathroom, toilet paper was behind you on the toilet. The rooms are nice enough and we had a good recommendation for dinner, but hot water and working internet are a must.

Visited for light lunch and had an excellent meal. Very generous portions, well cooked and really Ella presented. Staff were excellent and obviously hard working trying to please all customers! Extensive menu with excellent specials on offer. Food is very competitively priced and well worth the prices. Great place to visit while travelling.
