This was my ninth ski holiday with ClubMed and BTW, I’ve never stayed at the same resort twice. At the airport, my name was not on the hotel transfers list and upon arrival, my suitcase was delivered to a wrong room. The hotel is modern and nice. The room ergonomics confused me a bit with bathroom not lit enough and sinks unit designed to always obstruct your toes. The hallway was a bit cramped. The liquid soap was very thin, almost watery. Some of the wall sockets were not fixed properly and would fall apart every time you unplug a cable. The food was good, but not varied enough for a four-tritons hotel. I am comparing it with the one at Peisey-Vallandry last season, which was excellent! There was no olive oil for some two days, and one evening there was no coca-cola! The salad bar was the worst, offering the same types of salad every day! The bartenders would not make my favourite cocktail. The swimming pool was full of toddlers and their parents – it was impossible to swim after skiing. Good and hot and steamy hammam though. The evening entertainment was an average ClubMed one, the GOs though were always very enthusiastic! There was good snow on the top of the slopes, but not enough at the bottom. This had made returning back to the hotel very tricky towards the end of the week! My whole holiday was nearly ruined when our ESF ski instructor took another student and myself off-piste in the afternoon on the last day skiing with the excuse that the on-piste snow was not good! The snow was really bad and I fell three times. To make the matters worse, on our way back to the hotel, he took us through a closed slope with no snow at the bottom. In fact the slope was closed because of lack of snow! As a result I tripped up on a gravel road and ended up in the mud and quite bruised, with a big dent on my helmet! I was very disappointed that an experienced ski instructor could behave in such irresponsible way!

We booked a week’s ski holiday through Iglu Ski, to stay at a Club Med hotel - Valmorel. The hotel and facilities were great, very modern, clean and couldn’t fault the variety and amount of food and drink offered throughout the day. Before the trip we were concerned with leaving the children in Mini/Petit club, but they couldn’t have been looked after any better. All children’s staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to the children’s needs (especially Chloe from Petit club) Entertainment was 5 star, with daily evening shows, inflatables, characters and much more. Our children have come away with great ski confidence and skills, in which we are completly great-full for. Our only complaint would be the lack of English spoken in the hotel by staff, and upon check in lack of information given on things needed to do e.g registration process for kids clubs etc. We feel that we should have been given a welcome pack and induction or brief by staff (as we arrived late) rather then left to run around trying to figure out timings etc for ourselves. Children was also asked to have a medical by the onsite doctor before allowed to join classes, which we were unaware of. If you are going to book a ski holiday, I would advise booking direct and not with iglu ski. We had many issues from not booking direct and found iglu ski not to be helpful with lots of booking errors made on their part! Wouldn’t use iglu ski again. Overall we would 100% return to club med Valmorel, now we are aware of process. The town which is walking distance is beautiful and has lots to offer.

Fabulous ski area which we were guided around by amazing ski instructor . Every group member received individual coaching tips and all found their skiing skills improved. As well as the usual stunning ClubMed buffet for all meals

Another fantastic week at Club Med. Excellent ski instruction from Remy with a good variety of slopes and enough snow up top given the warmer weather. Amazing food and service from the GO team, definitely coming back!

Amazing massage by Annie or Hanny. Not sure about the exact name. Perfect pressure. Prefect release of muscles. Knowing exactly what to do where. I highly recommend the spa and full body massage at the beginning or end of stay. Great feeling.

This is not our first time at Valmorel. We like is so much that we keep coming back every year. We love the club and the slopes. The first time we came, my children were 5 and 4 years old and took their first ski lessons with the MiniClub. They are now 11 and 12 and are capable of enjoying most slopes with confidence. There is always something for everyone too enjoy, and that applies to the diversity of the menus in the restaurants, the activities on offer wether you would like to exercise, rest, ski, visit the village, watch a family show or a GM one, play ping pong, read a book, treat yourself to a massage or spa... The ClubMed team from the "Chef du Village" to the housekeepers are always giving their best and making sure that the GM (guests) are happy and enjoying themselves. The slopes difficulty levels are varied and you can find 'easy slopes" at high altitudes which is encouraging for the beginners. You can always find a slope for your level to enjoy even if it hasn't snowed since early January. For those who prefer racket, the sceneries are beautiful. Overall, Valmorel has a lot to offer to everyone, especially to families with children.

I have just returned with my four children, aged 9-14 and was absolutely blown away by how good it was. I was confident that it would be nice and child friendly, but it far exceeded my expectations in every way. The children all said it was their best holiday ever and it was for me too. There is a lovely atmosphere and culture among the staff, who are clearly very passionate about making their guests time unforgettable and are all very friendly, enthusiastic and professional. The food was world class and the choices were endless and able to have as much or as little as one liked and it was great to meet and chat to head chef Ayyoub who is extremely impressive and ran it brilliantly. The buffet service worked very well and it was mind blowing to see literally hundreds of people served at a time, barely having to queue, if at all for such a high standard of food, much of which is cooked in front of you. After choosing your food and entering the restaurant seating area, there were numerous superb waiting staff, ensuring you were taken straight to a beautifully laid table, offering wine, treats for the children and Walid in particular deserves a special thank you and gave us the warmest of welcomes every evening. This gave it much more of a top end silver service feel than buffet. We tended to sit in the same area so the children could always find each other after returning with second, third or fourth helpings! Club Med Manager Jerry seemed to be everywhere all of the time and from day one knew our names and was incredibly attentive in making sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. Helena and the other bar staff were fantastic and the choices of house (inclusive) beers and wines were excellent and cocktails looked great. The piste side barbecue starters at lunch time were a real treat, accompanied by a drink before one even got into the club and the live music was great and created an amazing atmosphere. The resort is great for beginners and being able to ski in and out was very spoiling, even when the snow was thinnning a bit lower down. It also has endless off piste possibilities for more advanced skiers (which I think is massively understated in any marketing of the resort) and I had one of the best mornings skiing of my life guided by ESF’s Nicolas, who found untouched slopes with lovely spring snow (even without having had much fresh snow very recently). Having pre booked childrens’ ski hire, they were ready in our locker less than 20m from the piste, which made life very easy with four children and Alfonso and Luca in the ski shop were so helpful throughout. Alain and Remy were amazing instructors with the children and I had another great morning with Christian. This week was half term (Paris and UK) and notoriously busy in most resorts but it didn’t feel crowded and barely had to queue for lifts at all. We all met loads of lovely people too and children made new friends in no time. Alexis in the gym was great and encouraged my 14 year ol

The food has been great, however the last night it was wonderful. Foie Grass, bouef tartar and an in Bone Steak cooked to perfection. The deserts also very very french pastissirie, specially the pistache one and the profiteroles. Thanks to Lina the Club Med responsible for this incredible evening.
