We were here over Christmas and it was perfect. Our room was large and had a lovely balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size and also very clean. It had everything we needed. Because it was Christmas there was someone playing the piano during dinner (He was excellent) and so we had drinks before which were perfect. This was both nights. Breakfast was also good. The lift is very small! One person and luggage only. The pool and spa were superb! The outdoor spa in winter is truly magical - such a special way to spend Christmas Day afternoon (so different to the sun and heat in Australia). Hotel is in a great location for walking anywhere in the village. Would definitely stay here again.

The property is well located within the beautiful village of Leukerbad. Great pool and surroundings, perfect for hiking and relaxing, close to the thermal baths and to all facilities & restaurants in the town. The room was clean, comfortable, and while the bathroom was VERY small, it had all the necessary facilities and was clean. If you’re in Leukerbad to enjoy hiking, bathing, tanning, or simply hanging by the pool, it’s a perfect hotel. If you’re looking for a place with charming and forthcoming 4-star service, then you can forget this place without a second thought. My daughter has Crohn’s disease and cannot eat solid food. We had reserved a family room for 4 including breakfast. Upon arrival we asked if we could remove one BF from the bill, as my daughter wouldn’t have any: That wasn’t possible. We asked if we could benefit from any alternative offer (even a drinks voucher for the bar would have been nice). We were told “No, can’t do anything, my hands are tied!” – by whom I wonder? You have to book the restaurant for the evening. Having had a tiring drive with 2 young kids, we pre-booked the table and ordered the food for 7pm, we arrived at 7pm, the place was nearly empty, the food arrived at 8pm… my kids were already waning. The food was mediocre at best (even in Switzerland I’m not used to pay 130 Fr. for tiny portions of deep-frozen food). At 9pm we asked for the bill, and were told “You have to wait”. So we decided to leave and put our kids to bed instead. Even with the tired kids in tow, the waiter shouted after us “can’t you just wait 10 minutes?”… by now the place was totally empty… why? Spending some time at the pool with wet hair, my daughter asked if she could have more conditioner. We were told “No, only 1 per person per stay”… of those tiny tiny bottles… why? At least as we checked-out, the annoyed front office employee didn’t ask us if we enjoyed our stay (smart move there). And as we left the hotel for the last time before driving back home, an employee we had never seen before left us with these beautiful last words: “THAT’S THE DOOR!” (I’m not kidding)… Now, I understand the hospitality sector is in crisis because of a lack of schooled personal, but the lack of charm of the hotel staff (apart from a young lady at breakfast and a friendly young man in the restaurant) was almost comical.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple nights to unwind after a stressful winter season. The hotel itself felt quite dated, as did the rest of leukerbad, but it’s still pleasant... the spa was really nice and relaxing, although the sauna is supposed to be open from 11am, they didn’t turn it on until 10:45, so it wasn’t up to temperature until after midday... the mattress was abit too firm for our liking. We ate dinner at a restaurant in the village on the first night, the second we chose to have dinner in the hotel restaurant, when we arrived they hadn’t put a table up for us, so we were put on a free one, our main course arrived pretty quickly and was lovely, a massive lamb shank with risotto, the desert took an hour to arrive after finishing, we don’t mind waiting and could see the waiters were really busy, and we completely understand as we work in hospitality, but some acknowledgment would’ve been nice, they just walked past our empty plates about 5 times and didn’t bother to ask if we’d like another drink, how the meal was etc. Overall, a nice stay, and not a bad price!

The hotel itself is good but nothing special. The big advantage is that they have their own spa (indoor an outdoor pool, sauna, steam bath, grotto), which means that you do have to go to the overcrowded pubilc spa (where you must book your ticket in advance). The menu of the restaurant was not very attractive. The lift is too small and one has always to wait for it.

We arrived by train. It was easy to get here by bus. We arrived before check in and were welcomed with a hostile greeting we felt this was because we could not speak French. We asked to leave our case and we’re shown an insecure room that was open for everyone to get in. We arrived back later and once again were greeted by a hostile receptionist once it was clear we could not speak French. We had paid for a queen bed and balcony room. The room is very basic. There is a kettle but you are given 2 paper cups and spoons. No bottled water. The bed is so soft and you can feel the springs if you dare to turn over in the night and the one flat pancake pillow. The spa area is very nice. Poole in and out. We went to the spa reception 6 times yesterday to book a massage but no one was there. We ate in the restaurant last night. I chose fondue. This arrived Luke warm and one bit mass of thick cheese the grill underneath was not lit eventually when the waiter passed by and I told him he said he would light it. I mean honestly no apology at all. We ate breakfast this morning. Very basic 2 waiters but spent most of the morning talking together or in the back. No help at all we couldn’t work the orange juice machine. The cereal dispenser was not working we could not find any spoons. Sadly we are here for another day. We will not be returning here or recommending it. Any body doubting me check my reviews I have never written a bad review before and we have been all over the world.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. We were greeted friendly. We only ate breakfast there, it had everything you need but nothing special. The entrance area, as well as the bar and the restaurant, are beautifully and modernly furnished. The remaining part is a bit older, but everything was clean. The rooms are very spacious, except for the bathroom. The mattresses on the large bed were very hard, so we didn't sleep very well. The pool area is nice, but nothing special. The water temperature is rather cool, especially in winter temperatures (in our case at the beginning of October) you don't stay out in the water for long. The staff was very friendly. There are always French and German speaking staff there. I can highly recommend the hotel for people who are active and travel a lot. Price-performance is definitely right.
