Wanted to do a quick wellness retreat by myself due to original Fourth of July trip plans falling through and found this place via the iPrefer site with which I have loyalty status. I was intrigued by the complimentary wellness sessions and the fact that there was a beach and pool available. Booking spa services and arranging airport transportation was pretty seamless. I requested early check in as part of my iPrefer elite status which admittedly I was very early arriving around 10:30 and my room wasn’t ready. Had a couple of glasses of Prosecco in the downstairs lobby bar where I learned some disturbing news from back home. In any case, I had booked a lateral view room and they claimed I was upgraded to a deluxe sea view room. Not so sure about that- had I actually paid for a deluxe sea view room and had what I had, I would’ve been disappointed. Upon check in there was no indication of a welcome amenity or food and beverage perk which supposedly comes with iPrefer elite status. I did make a complaint in this regard. So, to all the positives. Resort is beautiful, beach has perfect sand and you can walk for miles in the water and there are showers! I only did one quick dip in the pool but it was a lovely area. Room was spacious and comfortable and even though I was kind of meh with my view, the balcony was huge. As another reviewer commented, no hair conditioner which just seems weird. Loved that the mini bar was large enough for me to chill my own water and wine. I think for me besides the beach that will make me come back is the gym and spa. Gym is amazingly beautiful. I signed up for a complimentary breathing yoga session and Pilates. The instructor was fantastic. And it was exactly what I needed after the news from back home. I also did some treatments in the spa. The cleansing rituals were amazing but sadly the “relaxing” massage was a disappointment. My fault as I should’ve booked a deep tissue massage since I wanted deep pressure. I don’t normally do breakfast on holiday but it was included and I went down on the first day and was pleasantly surprised that sparkling wine is part of the deal! The spread is immense so if that’s your thing, you’ll love it. I forced myself to eat a bit more my second and last day but wish the complimentary wellness sessions didn’t conflict with the breakfast timing. Upon checkout, it turned out that the bottle of Prosecco I ordered via room service was my welcome amenity…hmmm. Wish they would’ve told me that so I didn’t complain about not getting a welcome amenity. At the end of the day, this resort is beautiful with lovely people and I think it’s more and iPrefer problem not connecting with properties to establish perk expectations. I will be back and hopefully it will be under more positive vibes!
