Beautiful and quaint boutique hotel with traditional ethnic Chinese architecture. It has small pockets of quiet sitting areas around for one to lounge and relax.
Hosts are super friendly and would do their best to help and advise on how to navigate the maze that is Lijiang ancient town. They would arrange with the housekeepers that daily cleaning of the room, and would ask if there is any additional request.
1 free ride for pick-up or drop-off from Lijiang Railway station can be arranged as we stayed more than 3 days.
Humidifier, hair dryer, air conditioner and heater are readily available in the room.
Room is comfortable and clean, with comfy beds and 2 types of memory foam + soft pillows to choose from
The separation of wet and dry area in the toilet + shower area is a godsend. The toiletries given are nice smelling and cleans well. The foyer to put our shoes and hang our coats and bag, kept our room clean and organised. The OCD in me is satisfied.
2 bottles of water are provided daily and more can be given if requested. Afterhours, there is a hot/cold water dispenser readily available outside the reception area.
There are 2 washing machine, 1 dryer and laundry liquid available for use. A drying area is right next to it.
Located near the north gate, on the edge of the ancient town, it is a very convenient location for exploring the town and popping in to rest in between attractions or after massive shopping. Good eateries for those on budget and those willing to splurge, are within walking distance. Chagee, 7-eleven convenience store and pharmacy are all around the corner.
Only minor inconveniences:
1. Our room is next to an elementary school. Hard to sleep in during the morning as the school bell and announcement during class breaks sound periodically. Luckily it was on our 2nd last day that this happened as school just restarted. We specifically asked for a quiet room. Would not be a problem for those out during the day. That said, it is very quiet at night.
2. Wifi can be a bit spotty sometimes. Just hijack your neighbouring room's wifi if desperate :)
That worked for us. Sorry neighbours...
3. Sockets and light switches are well placed. Would advise hosts to check the sockets by the bedside as they are a bit hard to plug in devices without a bit of wiggle and force.
4. Pls consider giving hand towels to wipe hands after washing at the washbasin. Or put a box of tissue there.
Otherwise, had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at Yiyun, would recommend anyone visiting Lijiang to stay at this great value for money boutique hotel!
