SolSoul Hotel, LiJiang Old Town

I originally planned my trip during the off-peak season, but Lijiang was still surprisingly crowded. The hotel I wanted to book was full, so I settled for this one, not really having high expectations. Here's a rundown of the hotel: Facilities: The room was small. For two people, it felt cramped just with a suitcase. If you want a more comfortable stay, I'd recommend booking a larger room. The bedroom was tiny, but the bathroom was quite spacious. However, on the second morning, there was a rather strong sewer smell in the bathroom that took a long time to dissipate. My child enjoyed their breakfast, saying it was tasty, but the variety was a bit limited. Cleanliness: Since it's carpeted, honestly, it wasn't super clean. The hotel has been open for a couple of years, and the maintenance is just so-so. The sink had some black marks. Location: The hotel is a bit of a distance from the Ancient Town, I think it's near the North Gate. It was also a bit far from all the places we wanted to go, which is my own fault for not researching properly before the trip. Service: The service was decent. Because the hotel has carpets, and I was dragging a big suitcase, a staff member I met in the hallway proactively offered to help me with my luggage, which was really nice.

Stayed at the Mu Mansion Hotel from Feb 8-9. This hotel was carefully selected from many in Lijiang. Considering that staying in the Old Town, based on pictures and reviews, might lead to many unexpected issues upon actual check-in, and transportation/dining would be quite restricted, I decided to choose a hotel near the Old Town instead. Mu Mansion Hotel's scale, hygiene conditions, hardware, proximity to the Old Town and airport, and numerous positive reviews all attracted me. I wanted this family trip to be perfect in every way. After much comparison, I finally booked Mu Mansion. Filled with anticipation, we returned to Lijiang after two days exploring Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM. The hotel staff warmly arranged our check-in and specifically assigned us a room with a bay window. The family room was very spacious, complete with a sofa and coffee table. The entire room featured smart home technology, and we even had fun chatting with the Xiao Du smart assistant! Pros: The breakfast was plentiful and started at 6:30 AM, which is convenient for guests heading out for day trips to various attractions. You don't need to get a packed breakfast; you can enjoy a hot meal before you leave. The soundproofing in the room was also excellent, and all the staff members had smiles on their faces. Our room was near a corner where there was also a sightseeing elevator that led directly to the parking lot entrance/exit, which is convenient for those driving or taking a taxi. Getting around was extremely easy. The hotel is within walking distance of Juman Yuan restaurant, which serves incredibly delicious food – we went twice! The Spicy Chicken had generous portions of chicken pieces, which was super satisfying, and the 'Hong Sanduo' (minced meat with peppers) and yak beef dishes were also very tasty. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lijiang. I wholeheartedly recommend Mu Mansion Hotel; it offers great value for money. You can stay here with peace of mind. The concierge service is available throughout your stay, and any requests can be communicated via WeChat or phone. When we left, they even gave us a souvenir, truly providing comprehensive service to their guests.
