## Environment:
The guesthouse is located right inside Lijiang Old Town, close to Sifang Street and the North Gate, making it super convenient for getting around and sightseeing.
## Service:
The manager, a really nice guy, greeted us with flower cakes and tea upon arrival. When I wasn't feeling well, he even gave me a bottle of oxygen and helped with our luggage. He also upgraded our room for free. However, the lock on the upgraded room was broken. We only realized it after coming back from a day out, finding the door couldn't be locked. Luckily, the guesthouse felt pretty safe, and nothing was stolen. We then moved to another room.
## Facilities:
The electric blanket in the room worked great! But I'd suggest upgrading to a newer model with a timer. It would be much more convenient for guests, so they don't have to turn it off in the middle of the night or endure a whole night of dryness. While the electric blanket was good, the air conditioning was quite ineffective. It felt chilly whenever I wasn't in bed.
This guesthouse is managed by a group of young people, mostly guys. One night, they were drinking in the courtyard until quite late (around 11-12 PM). Given it's an old town and room soundproofing is generally poor, it really disturbed our sleep. However, as two women alone late at night, we didn't dare or feel comfortable complaining.
There were notes in the room asking guests to keep noise down after 9 PM, but the owner himself brought a group of people and was loud, which felt a bit contradictory.
When we extended our stay the next day, our room wasn't cleaned, possibly because the cleaning lady had quit or for some other reason. We discovered this upon returning in the evening. The manager was very apologetic and promptly brought us toiletries and garbage bags, so we tidied up ourselves.
On our last day, our room card wasn't updated for the extended stay. We couldn't open our door upon returning and had to hand it over to the manager to fix.
Despite these issues, the guesthouse has two adorable big dogs, a Golden Retriever named Qiqi and a Samoyed named Pu'er. They are very well-cared for, which shows the owner is a kind person. I just hope they can be a bit more attentive to details. It's the off-season now, so the room rates were indeed very affordable. Overall, I had a great time in Lijiang, and I hope the owner can improve on these small details. Wishing them a prosperous business!
