The hotel's location is excellent and easy to find, just a few minutes' walk from the North Gate. Despite our late arrival past 11 PM, the owner was still waiting for us. When I unfortunately slipped and fell due to the wet path from the rain, the owner was incredibly thoughtful and even provided me with Yunnan Baiyao (a traditional Chinese medicine for injuries). Their service was genuinely warm and attentive throughout our stay.
Facilities: The amenities are quite good.
Cleanliness: The place was spotless.
Ambiance: It's a charming guesthouse with a beautiful garden. The views were lovely, especially on a nice day.
Service: The service was exceptionally thoughtful and caring. Definitely worth a stay!

GGuest UserEverything about this place, from location to hospitality, is amazing! The homestay arranged to pick us up at an intersection and carried our luggages all the way.
The sound proofing of the rooms are not that good though, so a word of caution for light sleepers.
During our stay, 小李 took really good care of us, never failed to ask what we intended to do on each day, provided help and suggestionsto us on what to do. We started and ended each day chatting with him. 😊
On our check out day, we had to leave at 6.30am to Shangri-La and 小李 woke up to help us with our luggages and waited with us till our driver came! We could not thank him enough and appreciate him going all the way to help us.
We had a wonderful 5-day stay and Lijiang made an impression on us. We definitely recommend anyone to stay there..

YYunduodelvtuI specifically chose this hotel to see the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains from bed. The service was excellent, with a 24-hour butler. The room offered a 180-degree view directly facing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the courtyard was spacious, with photo-op decorations on the rooftop. The ambiance was absolutely stunning. The room was equipped with a humidifier and heater, and afternoon tea was provided. Breakfast was served as a set menu, and the rice noodles were incredibly delicious. The most delightful surprise was Sanjin, who was adorable and incredibly well-behaved. Sanjin greeted guests politely, allowed cuddles, and even licked hands enthusiastically. Truly a sweetheart!

GGuest UserVoluntarily giving a great review: This was the most satisfying B&B we stayed at during our Yunnan trip, definitely deserves a good review: 1. The airport pick-up and drop-off service was perfectly executed. We didn't wait a single minute; a driver was waiting for us upon arrival, and a staff member was waiting at the ancient town. Our luggage was handled by a porter with a handcart, as the B&B is centrally located in the ancient town, but we didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff member guided us to the B&B. Upon arrival, the warm-hearted owner even offered us fruit, which was a lovely touch. 2. The hotel has a wooden structure design and underfloor heating. The room was already very warm when we got there, just like coming home, so we slept exceptionally well on the first night. 3. The hotel also offers concierge service, comparable to a five-star hotel. If you leave your clothes in the laundry basket by your room door, they will be washed, dried, bagged, and returned to your door in the basket – incredibly thoughtful. 4. One day, we left early for Shangri-La, and the front desk attendant, worried we'd miss breakfast, prepared milk, eggs, and pastries for us to take and eat in the car. We were truly touched. Such a thoughtful and comfortable B&B made our Yunnan trip especially memorable. Next time we visit Lijiang, we'll definitely stay at Yijianyunkuan again. Seriously, and breakfast is pictured. The latte and chicken noodle soup are worth savoring.

If you're visiting in summer, it would be lovely to sit on the open-air balcony in the evening, enjoying drinks and chatting with friends – very relaxing indeed. I stayed here on my last day in Lijiang and even got to see the 'golden mountain bathed in sunlight' phenomenon. The owner is incredibly kind, helping with luggage and treating you like an old friend. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit. Oh, and it's also pet-friendly, which is a big plus if you're traveling with your furry companion.

GGuest UserHaving been to Dali, I have a good idea of what a 'home away from home' B&B feels like, but this one still managed to pleasantly surprise me. You can watch the sunrise over the snowy peaks right from your room, the lobby offers specialty milk tea and fruit tea, and transportation is covered with a car pick-up and drop-off service. In the evenings, there's a bonfire party and fireworks, plus a fun complimentary horse ride by Longnv Lake. For meals, you only need to order one main dish, as hotpot and drinks are all free. The 24-hour service via WeChat group is incredibly meticulous, and there's a generous afternoon tea spread and a well-stocked mini-bar. All the staff are incredibly warm and friendly. I rarely stay at the same hotel or B&B twice, but this place is definitely worth revisiting.
Of course, I do have a small suggestion: the content on the 'Xiao Du Video' TV needs updating as it's quite old, and it's not compatible with mainstream platforms like Tencent or iQiyi, meaning you have to cast content from your phone daily. For someone who likes to turn on the TV as soon as they wake up while traveling, this isn't very convenient. I hope this can be improved in a future update or a renovation of the first phase. However, this is a minor flaw that doesn't detract from the overall experience, and it still deserves a five-star rating and a big thumbs-up!

1. The auntie who makes breakfast noodles with sauce is fantastic; I had them for three days straight because they were so delicious.
2. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic and respond quickly to any issues. They work tirelessly from morning till night. The 4.5-star rating is based on these two points!
3. The location on top of Lion Mountain offers easy access to and from the ancient town.
4. The hotel is relatively new. There's a small viewing platform next to the front desk with good views.
Now for the issues, to be completely honest:
I was drawn in by the 4.9-star rating. I'm not sure how Ctrip calculates its scores nowadays.
1. I stayed in room 205, which was advertised as 28 square meters. It has one double bed, and a bench at the foot of the bed. The actual floor space in the room feels like about four double beds could fit, but one double bed completely fills the sleeping area. The only small round stool was one I had to ask for. Honestly, I've traveled for over 20 years and seen many 28-square-meter rooms, and I can't agree with this measurement. There's just a bench at the foot of the bed, then the projector screen.
2. The bathroom is tiny, pitifully small. It's just big enough for the toilet. I'm 1.59 meters tall, and when I sit completely, my legs are as shown in picture one; if I try to sit a bit more normally, the bathroom door won't close.
3. The glass sliding door is dangerous! It's stiff and gets stuck when opening or closing. I struggled to slide it when showering.
4. Shower water: I stayed three nights. On the first night, around 11 PM, almost midnight, the water was lukewarm – I couldn't shower. The staff member did resolve it immediately by asking us to wait half an hour for the water to heat up. This ended up taking until about 1 AM, which was exhausting. The second night was fine. On the third night, showering around 9 PM, the water was either scalding or freezing when adjusted, fluctuating back and forth multiple times. I ended up having a rushed shower, which was quite a frustrating experience.
5. Air conditioning: On the first night, I set the AC to 26°C, but I froze all night and woke up with a stuffy nose. The staff told me I needed to set the AC to 28.5°C; I was stunned. I had just come from Meili and Shangri-La, which are much colder than Lijiang. I guess I've never encountered an AC unit that needs to be set to 28.5°C to be warm enough… you can imagine its heating effectiveness.
6. The hotel's smart design: As soon as you open the curtains, you can see the bed opposite, and everything on it is clearly visible. Zero privacy.
7. My final point is a suggestion: I stayed three nights, and the breakfast didn't change at all. I personally suggest a little variety would be a more thoughtful touch.
Someone will probably ask why I didn't change hotels or rooms given these issues. Honestly, frequent travelers don't particularly care if a hotel is luxurious or not; clean and decent is usually enough. Switching back and forth is truly a hassle – packing and moving luggage is too annoying. It's just for sleeping, after all.
Oh, and on the last night, around 10:30 PM, the projector TV suddenly started fast-forwarding, pausing, and blurring on its own, which scared me to death. It might have been a machine malfunction, but it gave me a significant fright.
I first came to Lijiang in 2005 and have visited 5-6 times since, in different seasons, staying in various hotels and guesthouses. In this very weak off-peak season, there are many choices for a 398 CNY per night room, and this one really wasn't worth it. Lijiang was originally just a stopover for us because of altitude sickness, prompting us to come down from Meili earlier and stay an extra night, but it was truly disappointing. While strolling through the ancient town, we saw guesthouses touting for business, and we even checked some out. So, there's definitely room for improvement!

Service: I have never given a bad review for the service attitude of any accomodations which I’ve stayed at in China, but I honestly think that the service here is mediocre and more reactive than proactive. They fulfil the basics of bringing your luggage up to your room, giving directions to the laundry and breakfast areas and arranging for pick up from the station to the hotel for a stay of at least three consecutive nights. I cannot speak for all the service staff, but the service staff that mainly tended to me during the stay definitely needs to be improved. He was helpful when I needed help for the laundry setting. However, when I needed help with booking tickets to snow mountain (I’m a foreigner and do not have a local number), it was a rather frustrating experience. He shared that the booking of tickets to Yulong Snow Mountain can be done 3-4 days in advance, and he could help me when I arrive at the accommodations. When I arrived, it was 4 days in advance but he was rather nonchalent and did not manage to help me secure tickets for my intended date of visit and had to eventually rely on the tour group to help change dates. The night before the tour visit, I had to reach out on wechat to ask about when and where the meeting point is for the tour. Even after the tour, I even had to ask several times to pay for the tour tickets as he had helped me to secure the ticket to the glacier park cablecar eventually. I had already shared that I could not transfer money on wechat and could only do via scanning his wechat/alipay qr code or vice versa. I feel that given that you guys are located in Lijiang and located near to Jade Snow Mountain, you should have encountered other customers who need help with the booking and this shouldn’t have been such a stressful tour booking experience.
Amenities: they have two all-in-1 washing machine and drying amenities which was rather helpful. In the original room which i had booked, the air con leaked at around 10pm+. I texted the service staff on wechat and another staff came 5-10minutes later to check. This staff said it’s normal for the air con to leak at times especially if it’s blocked. After checking, he offered to change rooms for me. He helped me to move my luggage to the new room. There was no form of apology by any of the staff on the day itself when the incident happened. It was only on the next day when I requested for check-out transportation services to the railway station for the following day, where the staff who mainly tended to be apologised for the aircon leakage and offered complimentary transport services to the railway station.
I’ve stayed in many accomodations in Yunnan but this was the most disappointing stay thus far and I will definitely not be back again.

GGuest UserAmbiance: Tranquil and secluded, a unique Chinese aesthetic. The entire room was filled with the scent of aromatherapy incense, which was incredibly refreshing. I loved the citronella essential oil and bought over 1000 yuan worth, getting a 30% discount – quite a good deal.
Facilities: The open-air heated massage private onsen was fantastic. The room directly faced the 'Golden Mountain in Sunlight' view.
Service: Our butler, Luna, provided excellent service. She helped us book a photography session in advance, arranged our room, including housekeeping, answered all our questions, booked our airport transfer, and took care of little things like the 'Little Turtle' welcome gift and bottled water. Highly recommend! The turndown service was particularly special: on the first night, we had a rose milk foot bath in a copper basin, and on the second night, it was a coarse salt foot bath in a copper basin. Breakfast was also good and came with a scenic view.
One-way airport transfer between the hotel and Lijiang Sanyi Airport: The airport drop-off service was good.
One complimentary ethnic costume photography session (requires booking at least 1 day in advance): I had already taken photos in ******* and Yi costumes a few days prior, so here I tried on Miao ethnic clothing, which was another great experience of local culture. I didn't add any extra photos beyond the included five.
Seasonal welcome fruit: We received small fruit baskets on both days. In the evening, there were fresh juices and small cakes – red pitaya juice and orange juice. There was also a large cake in the fridge!

GGuest UserI booked for two days as a solo traveler. The room was very spacious, and having an elevator made it much more convenient than staying inside the old town. My main activity was hiking, which meant my clothes would get sweaty and dusty. The hotel having a washer-dryer combo was incredibly convenient for this, but unfortunately, it suddenly stopped drying on the second day, which was a real shame. The room was well-equipped, though some amenities had minor imperfections. For example, the Xiao Ai smart speaker wasn't connected to the internet, so its smart functions couldn't be used; the hotel might need to ensure it's properly connected. Overall, at this price point, it's an excellent choice. I'd definitely come back again.
