The Hoste and the Vine House Hotels

What a wonderful stay! The hotel is full of charm - the bar/pub area has a woodburner, beams, and tons of atmosphere. The restaurant is large but still intimate as it is spread across several areas, so you don't get that aircraft hanger feel. The food is excellent and the breakfast is outstanding. We had a suite, as it was a special birthday, and we were not disappointed. It was spotlessly clean, although a little tired in places - chipped paint, scratched walls, and doors that were difficult to keep closed at times. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the birthday treat in our room was greatly appreciated. It was a lovely base to explore North Norfolk and we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!

We stay in Burnham every year and make regular visits to the Hoste for dinner or drinks. The food is always amazing and the service warm and friendly. Val in particular stood out this year, taking such great care of my elderly parents with a smile and great humour and made their Sunday.

I went away with my son and husband. This is the second time we've stayed in 4 months, both times were exceptional hence coming back. We had an incredible dinner and I'd like to thanks Summer the waitress who was incredible - so kind and attentive and the gentleman who showed us to our seat thank you so much you were also incredibly kind keeping my husbands dinner warm whilst he fed the baby. The fantastic service continued into the morning at breakfast, everyone is so polite, kind and helpful at the hoste. We will be back for a 3rd time hopefully for my birthday in March! 10/10 on all fronts also a beautiful room, nice and toasty on the cold weekend thanks again everyone at the hoste you made my January!!!!

What a quaint little pub this.. serving excellent local beer, In ancient coach house, this is exactly the kind of vibe you want whilst traveling in Norfolk. Drinking my beer in the front of the wood burner was absolutely lush! I would definitely recommended popping in here for a beer if you're in the area..

Had problems with seating meaning we only had 1hr 30m to eat and be out of our chairs. This wasn’t an issue until our starter (1 camembert) took 40 minutes to arrive meaning me and my partner had to rush our £200 dinner? This was resolved by us being able to move into the (beautiful) resident only area after our mains which solved the seating issue. Our waitress was trying but seemed more interested in her partner on the bar, I feel like I know these people on a personal level seeing them interact with each-other so much, as that was all they were really up to. Bartender (her other half) took 2 drinks orders from me, 5 minutes later I go to try and find our server and lo and behold she is rubbing the bartenders arm and having a chinwag on the bar. Meanwhile me and another man at the bar were sat waiting for a drink/service until they decided they were done?? Not acceptable. Had 2 orders of drinks turn up only half the order or not at all, will not return unfortunately as the food was absolutely incredible but I cannot realistically pay for such poor service. I have worked in hospitality for a number of years and I understand there are complications, I am not unhappy with the complications or how they were handled but I am very disappointed with the lack of care of your front of house staff. Thank you so so much for a perfect stay. The staff so kind and caring and the hotel just so clean and beautifully designed we slept so well. The shower too was the best ever. We had Five Star food a cross the whole of our stay. My Chris enjoyed a steak that melted in his mouth and I had the fish of the day - so fresh. The champagne was flowing and we couldn’t believe there was even a birthday card and a slice of chocolate cake on a wooden board decorated with love - my Chris felt so touched by such detail and attention and kindness. We can’t wait to return and will tell all our friends. We’ve told our daughters and their boyfriends to visit too. We can’t thank you and the chef and the team enough. Love Faye and Chris xxx
