Electra Kefalonia Hotel & Spa

We have just returned from the most wonderful holiday to Kefalonia, made all the more special by the amazing staff at the Electra Kefalonia Hotel and Spa. By the end of our 10 night stay we were sad to leave having been made to feel part of the Electra family from ALL of the staff working there, who really couldn’t do enough for us. Special mention to the wonderful Yianna who really is AMAZING at what she does and so knowledgable about everything, as well as the lovely Dimitria, Giannis, Thanasi and Georgios. We couldn’t have wished to meet a nicer group of people who were so kind and thoughtful to us throughout our stay. This is a gorgeous, modern hotel, and we knew from check in when we were offered a welcome glass of Prosecco, that we had found a special place. Once checked in we made our way up to our room (a superior room with sea views) to be greeted by the lovely Dimitria, who had just left us a bottle of champagne on ice to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Small touches like this throughout our stay really added to the whole holiday and is something only a small boutique hotel such as this can offer….a more personal touch! Our room was spacious, clean and bright with a lovely marble bathroom. The cleaners came everyday and refreshed all towels, and kept the room spotless. Complimentary bottles of water were also restocked daily. There was a lot of storage space so suitcases could be kept out of the way and there was plenty of room to unpack your belongings. Breakfast was always sublime with a wide range of fresh fruits, yoghurts, pastries, breads, waffles and of course eggs to order. We ate like kings everyday, and the bonus was this was all included in the price of our room. Thanasi and Giannis were exceptional at remembering our preferences and pre-empting a coffee refill at just the right time! No issues with sunbeds around the pool at all during our stay. Some days were busier than others but we always managed to get a good spot (they’re all good spots to be honest!). What I loved most about this hotel was the calmness and tranquility throughout the day. A little bit of chill out music playing and the odd plane coming in to land which was always fascinating to see! On the days we stayed poolside we ate lunch at the hotel pool bar. Nice variety of choice, big portions on some of the dishes such as the club sandwich and the burger - we mostly shared the club sandwich and chips (homemade chips were fantastic!). Local beach (Ammes) a couple of minutes down the road, and another one (Al Helis) more of a walk away - around 20-25 mins, but much nicer in my opinion. Also some tavernas either side - we recommend O’Milos and Fish Cat. Now to the hotel restaurant - the most amazing food and wine… yes it is more expensive than the local tavernas and less traditional, but as foodies, this was right up our street! Recommend the salmon, seabass, sea bream and also the steak… which we had more than once. A nice selection of local win

This truly is a fantastic hotel with incredible staff, great location too, although some people say that it’s too near the airport, that isn’t a problem as there aren’t many flights and when they do come it’s interesting. Near a great little beach and not far from Argostoli. The staff couldn’t be better, especially Yianna in the restaurant, Efi on reception and especially George on reception who gave us great info on where to go and some great restaurant recommendations. Also thanks to Dimitra and George. We ate in the restaurant about 4 time and the food was fantastic. Great clean rooms with very good and much needed aircon. Thanks again we will be back!!

Highly recommended this beautiful hotel with BEAUTIFUL STAFF!!!! The hotel is very NICE , with beautiful views over the bay and a spectacular sunset! It’s located near to the airport but this is not very annoying because Kefalonia is not such a touristic island (compare to other greek islands) and the flights start around 9 a.m until 11.00 p.m The rooms are big and beautiful, very clean. The STAFF is AMAZING!!! Starting with Giorgios from the reception who gave us some GREAT advices regarding the island , who helped us with ANY request, Kosmas was helpful too. The staff from the restaurant “the captain” , Yannis, Dimitra, Elena Maria all of them were ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!! I’ve been in many hotels in Greece but the services from this hotel were THE BEST! Only GOOD words for this team! Very involved, pay attention to details, always asking you if you need something, absolutely TOP! The breakfast is great and the coffee EXCELLENT! The food it’s delicious! I highly recommend this hotel for a nice experience if you visit Kefalonia.

Amazing hotel, with fantastic staff! Booked as part of package with Jet2. The hotel is a stones throw away, and is almost certainly the first drop on the shared coach transfer due to its close location. The hotel has a restaurant, but there are a number close by to go out and explore. The small cafe close by is ideal to break up the day from catching the rays and serves basic Greek lunches. A beach is a few steps away, and a walk around the airport is well worth it, if it’s not too hot! We stayed in a swim up room, which was well worth the upgrade and would highly recommend. We flew back on a night flight and utilised the showers in the spa which was very welcome after a full day sunbathing! Ignore the reviews about the planes, yes they’re low flying because they have to land but they’re only over for a few seconds, and it actually is a good form of entertainment.

Oh what a lovely hotel this is! Fantastic staff and big comfortable rooms. Food is excellent and served so efficiently by the friendly staff. Wonderful sea views and communal pool with comfortable sun beds, although we didn't need to use this as we were upgraded on arrival and had our own large patio and small pool. The rooms have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage, large bathroom with walk-in shower, robes, slippers, flip-flops, and pool towels. Sun-beds and table and chairs on the patio. Coffee making facilities. Air-conditioning. There are spa facilities although we didn't use them. There are several tavernas within walking distance, and a good regular bus service to the main town. Maybe the only distraction is that this is very near to the airport and on the flightpath of incoming planes. However, it doesn't take long at all to get completely used to this and in the end you cease to be bothered by this, and actually appreciate being so conveniently near to the airport!

When we drive up in the coach from the airport, we we’re looking out of the window and we said “that looks lovely “ Luckily it was our hotel and it gives a great first impression. The staff are really friendly The rooms are clean and comfortable The facilities are great We really enjoyed our stay at the electra hotel

This was a lovely, quiet and very comfortable hotel. Everything was pretty new. The planes do fly overhead quite regularly but we found it quite fascinating and not a problem. Breakfast was lovely,typically Greek/Mediterranean but also included a variety of egg choices as well as other hot breakfast options. I have a couple of minor criticisms. Firstly, the young man who walks up and down constantly during breakfast starts to feel a little intrusive. I don't think he meant to be but you were often having to manoeuvre around him if you wanted to go and get something. Breakfast is from 08.00- 11.00. The pool doesn't open until 11.00. I kind of see why but it is a disappointment that you can't go for an early swim. Lastly, you can use the facilities of the spa if you've checked out of your room to shower. There was no sign of a hairdryer to use and you had to find a member of staff in order to get a towel. We felt like we were being a nuisance. There isn't much around the hotel in terms of restaurants or shops. I'd recommend a car. Ammes beach is a 5 minute walk away. We paid €12 for two loungers and an umbrella

My wife and myself flew to kefalonia on 8th september and stayed at Electra hotel and spa 5 minutes ffom the airport.Location-location-location what a view of the sea and mountains and stunnig sunsets. we stayed in a balcony room with seaview The staff from georgius and efa on reception to the amazin F+B team led by restaurant manager Yianna who has great knowledge of wines and morning team of Thanasis-marialena and yiannis to the evening team led by captain Kostas barman yiannis and always smiling Dimitra( try the lemon pie cocktail made by viannis- amazing) Nothing was to much trouble they served with a smile a;; day each day - we did not hire a car as we just wanted to crash- plenty sunbeds by a big infinity pool- we went by bus into the capital one day the buses are ten past the hour only 2 euroes for 20 minute ride we only ate out one night at one of the 4 restaurants near by called omilos- it was : ok: nothiong special The food in electra was superb although the desserts were enough to feed two people. we also used the beautiful spa twice so thanks to joanna for my creatian massage and emma tghe manageress for my wifes treatments. ammes beach is fiove minute walk away and 2x sunbeds plus parasol and table only 12 euro for padded or 10 euro unpadded per day small bar on the beach. only things we could think to improve our stay would be if their was a full length mirror in our room plus a steam iron not just ordinary one so small tweaks. higley reccomend the hotel - mr john you have a great team- oh must mention the chefs who prepared lobster dinner for my wife- the breakfast buffets also were superb fresh plentiful and varied - WE INTEND TO RETURN NEXT YEAR

The hotel was fantastic! Very convenient from the airport but not that many flights so planes overhead are not annoying - quite novel if anything! We had a room with a private pool which was great. Breakfast is really nice - lots of variety. You have to book dinner but would highly recommend - much better than any of the nearby restaurants.
