The Georgian Town House Hotel

Fantastic find - i usually go for bigger chain hotels, so wasnt sure when i booked… but its excellent! Clean and quiet and in a good area, just 250 yrds from John Lennons first student digs… easy walk into town, without the madness of the cavern quarter. Love it.

I would describe this guesthouse as basic, worth the money, but generally a bit tired and needing some attention. We had 2 single rooms, mine being in the roof space. It served a purpose but there were some minor issues and 1 major issue. The room had a broken table lamp, all the fittings in the bathroom were loose, wallpaper hanging off the walls, my dads room door handle came off In your hands. The skylight blind in my room wouldn't stay shut, so I received an early awakening by the sun. Don't book the top floors if you have mobility issues, as its a bit of a climb. It does explain that in the website though. There are signs for a cafe and suggestions of a breakfast being served but there are none. The biggest and pretty serious concern in my opinion was that the key fobs to the rooms opened EVERY room door. I know, because I was able to enter my dads and, with the permission of other guests, I was able to open their doors too. Not great if your a lone female!! That said, it was the cheapest place to stay and the bed was comfortable. There are no visible staff by the way so if you need assistance, you need to phone them.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Does not deserve to be called a hotel. Bed stay more like. States ‘continental breakfast’ included ? Only to be served cereals and /or croissant. When asked about hot breakfast, they said it’s an extra £7 pounds for each person for a hot breakfast. Rooms could do with painting and further cleaning. Busy road! Could hardly sleep. Will never come again. Loved Liverpool though

We have just spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel, we had a twin room front facing and despite being on a busy road the traffic noise was not an issue , the beds were amongst the most comfortable I have ever slept in and lovely soft pillows too with spare quilts in the cupboard if needed , we had tea making facilities and a small fridge in the cupboard and a large flat screened TV , lovely on suite bathroom with shower with piping hot water and great water pressure , we really couldn’t have asked for more, we were literally a stone’s throw from the Anglican n cathedral and gardens and had several restaurants and bars in close proximity, I would recommend this place to anyone it was clean, comfortable and ideally placed for local amenities, on road parking is available but we didn’t need it , and a massive Thankyou to our lovely landlady Anne, absolutely nothing was too much trouble she really is salt of the earth. We will certainly stay here again

Enjoyed our stay here. The bed was big and comfortable. Only improvement needed was better pillows as they were very flat. The room had plenty of storage and space. Lovely big sash window. Bathroom shower needed looking at as door runners had started to come away. The breakfast was enormous. Very nice indeed. Location is good but would recommend to get a taxi to go to the sights as its quite a long walk.

Perfectly adequate, no staff on site, but we managed ok. Superb location. If accommodation is all you’re after this is ideal. We didn’t eat on site but I’m aware there was a cafe for breakfast on site. Lovely views of the Anglican cathedral across the Georgian rooftops.
