Went here for our wedding anniversary, all the staff were brilliant and so friendly and helpful. Food was beautifully served. Ale was of good quality. Bedroom was well furnished with walk in wet room. All amenities that you would need. Jackie and Jonathan and their staff made our stay a delight . DIANA was brilliant she went out of her way to make us feel at home. Would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. Thankyou all . Parking in private car park. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Every time we have stayed at the Hand we have never been disappointed. Staff, food and accommodation all superb. Looking forward already to our next visit.

We have come before and reviewed before but it’s wonderful to find that some things never change … such as the welcome … the kindness and attention from staff old and new … the delicious food at dinner and at breakfast … the genuinely homely atmosphere … and, I’m afraid, the truly terrible joke on the back of the breakfast menu … but seriously The Hand has a special ability to attract, train and encourage the skills of some wonderful staff. That has to be fostered by those at the top who really know how to treat people, one of my favourite places

This is quite honestly one of the nicest meals I have had. The portion sizes were huge - which is always nice to see when prices seem fairly pricey (but portion sizes take the shock out if this). Food was full of flavour, beautifully presented and hot. Everyone in our party of 3 enjoyed their food - stake pie, chicken pie and bacon chop. Vegetables served separately. Vegetables were such an interesting combination- asparagus, carrots, peas and tomatoes- beautiful flavours. Finished off with the best affagato served deconstructed. Sat by the fire - which was kept stocked. Staff attentive - and didn't really need to ask "is everything OK?" - as it definitely was.

This is a must try restaurant. You will not be disappointed. The food and service are outstanding. The Head Chef puts his heart and soul in to the food. The flavours and the quality of food are outstanding! The hotel is great too a real countryside hotel.

Another lovely stay at The Hand this time there was ten of us staying one night. The Hand has been consistently good every time we have visited. A special thank you to Jackie, Jonathan, Ted and all the girls who work so hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the bar is cosy and the food is amazing. We will definitely return

This was as cosy and welcoming a place as we've ever visited. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can eat here at different times of the day and the food is spectacular; little wonder they have so many AA awards! I would come back again.

Just had an overwhelmingly fantastic meal at The Hand! The atmosphere was snug and inviting - truly the perfect setting for a lovely evening with my dear hubby. The warmth that engulfs you as you step in is just incredibly comforting. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a brilliant dining experience. Splendidly satisfying!
