Perfect venue, excellent staff. We were treated like royalty from start to finish. Great place to get married. Food was outstanding, the staff couldn't do enough for you. We can't wait to go back for a chilled overnight stay.

This was our second time at the Bear. The friendliness and comfort at the inn, plus the lovely town, make this an ideal place to stay when visiting the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. We'll be back again!

We stopped here for a light lunch and ate in the bar area. I ordered a sandwich with smoked salmon and chive cream cheese. It was a very sorry looking sandwich. One slice of smoked salmon which didn't cover all of the bread, a negligible amount of cream cheese and zero chives. It didn't taste of anything, being mostly bread, no lemon, no pepper, (no chives). It came with a salad garnish that looked nice but unfortunately the mustard dressing was a bit too strong and plentiful for my taste. I expected much more for £9.50, I could have had a nicer sandwich from a supermarket for a lot less. We also ordered a brown crab salad which was OK. It had a nice selection of salad vegetables but I can't really comment on the crab as you couldn't really see any! There was a brown coloured paste like dressing so maybe that was the crab? Very disappointing.

Double booked accommodation. Replacement accommodation had issues with equipment, particularly the boiler. The house was very cold with a non-functioning boiler. Although this was sorted by a member of staff, it failed again the next day.

It’s quite a few years since our last stay…..stayed in one of the ‘newer’ rooms, with an amazing bath.Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming - all were excellent, and we are already planning a trip for the New Year.

The dinner used to be wonderful. A pleasure to go to the Bear for the food. No more it’s reasonable pub faire. My complementary breakfast was ok but the bacon was dried out. The coffee was good, as was the car park Although I had to go to the nearby town car park to recharge my car.

Always a warm welcome . Fantastic food . Wonderful staff . Plesant surroundings . I have eaten inside and out side in the covered garden . Can’t wait for summer there . You can park directly behind in the private car park too . So easy and convenient. We were served today buy a lovely lady called Zara . She made my friends birthday . So kind and went above and beyond . Nothing was too much trouble and she made us really welcome .

What can I say but WOW, myself and my husband had our anniversary meal on Saturday 3rd February, I have to say the lady Zara was running the show, she had everything under control, we didn't book, but Zara made sure we had the best seats in the bear, we were treated like king and queen, made our anniversary so so special,

Ok I’ll admit I’m very picky and somewhat hard to please. I don’t often rave about anywhere without a ‘but’ or two. So hats off to this place! I literally cannot fault it. From the well trained (somewhat of a rarity these days) ,exceptionally friendly staff, to the decor and feel of the building itself. Above all the wonderful, delicious food. Everything we ordered was exceptionally tasty and well cooked, using top quality produce. I can’t wait to return. If I was to have one little ****** it would be the bistro tables which I cannot abide. Sadly they seem to be our lot nearly everywhere we go, as we tend to eat out as a couple. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch
