This is a lovely, unique hotel. Not at all corporate, in a class of its own. We return here every so often because it is delightful. Parts are faded and have seen better days but that is the charm. it is an old building and just like us, is a bit wonky in places.

This hotel has incorrect name and address information all over the web. Many sites seems to call it the 'Grand Hotel de France' and list it at 6 Rue Du Haut Picois. In fact the hotel name is the 'Hotel de France' and it is at 6 Rue Picois. This is a completely different street than the one often listed - I know because we booked this hotel on Wotif.com, and when we arrived at the address, there was no hotel there, and google turned up nothing under 'Grand Hotel de France'. Yet despite this and having to rush to find alternative accommodation at the last minute; we were still charged for one night; and neither Wotif nor the hotel wants to take responsibility for selling a night at a hotel that doesn't exist according to the confirmation given.

There is no hotel in Loches with the indicated name and address. Turns out the name and address are different! This is easily verifiable on Google. Yet, neither Wotif nor the hotel will refund us. Great service eh! First and definitely last time using Wotif.

the property had a lot of character, and was in the center of a beautiful midieval town. the rooms should be updated, but weren't unpleasant.

L'accueil parfait des propriétaires, les chambres ont bien évidemment besoin d'être rafraichies, mais sont propres et très confortable, le lieu est calme et plein de charme. Nous avons dîné le soir, repas excellent, bref très bon séjour. je recommande vivement ce lieu.
