Absolutely incredible experience! The beauty of the main lodge and the luxury individual lodging is only surpassed by the excellence of the Manager and entire staff. These seasoned professionals see to your every care from ensuring your lodging is clean and fresh daily, to the most delicious and beautifully presented meals, and (of course) ensuring that you see every animal possible out on the Reserve during your stay. Their highly experienced tour guides/drivers await your arrival at the Kichwa Tembo Air***** on the Reserve in the overland vehicle used for your safari. These professionals are intimately familiar with the Maasai Mara National Reserve and ensure you will enjoy the various animals and photographic moments while searching for the Big Five during your entire safari. The tour guides/drivers serve your daytime meals (prepared by Kilima's in-house chefs) on linen-covered tables while out on the game drives, and your breakfasts and dinners of simply delicious and fresh foods (prepared in-house by the chef) are elegantly served by the gracious wait-staff in the main lodge. Prior to dinner and at sunset, there is a wonderful time where guests can sit around the fire-pit between the main lodge and the overlook to take in the changing sky over cocktails and beverages. The individual lodges are beautiful. The colors and decor are lovely, the beds and linens are soft and luxurious, the bathroom area is spacious (including indoor/outdoor showers) and beautifully lit, and your front deck provides you a lovely view overlooking the Reserve below and for watching the hot-air balloons float across the Mara at sunrise. There is a security staff that accompanies you with lighting down the well-appointed paths to-from your individual lodging during non-daylight hours. There is a stable of beautiful horses if you enjoy horse-back riding, and you are close to a Maasai Village in the event you wish to visit and better understand their lifestyle and traditions. The main lodge is a gathering place for all guests and where your delicious meals are served at tables to accompany the size of your personal group. There is a large, open dining area, as well as a luxurious sofa area near the bar and fireplace. Every aspect of the lodge has been well-appointed in colorful decor and lighting, and the side facing the overlook is open so that the magnificent expanse of the Reserve is always in view. Each time we leave, we feel refreshed, full of fabulous memories, and (perhaps most importantly) as though we have been personally and well-cared for by the staff of Kilima Camp. We are anxiously looking forward to our next visit with these wonderful folks! Go...you won't be disappointed.
