Stayo Covent Garden

Don’t book the stayo apartmants! It is a scam (for real)!!! Me and my sister were about to stay in the Covent Garden apartment when we found out in the first night that the building in front of the apartment is under construction from 4:00am to 18:00pm (something that was not mentioned in their website) we did not sleep all night!! When we tried to contact the manager to explain the situation they did not except to talk to us on the phone and sent us an email that this is not their problem and refused to give us our money back. We did not expect to receive all of our money back but we did expect to get some of it! We only stayed for one night instead of four! We were worned before to never order from stayo and when we talked to booking they told us that stayo refused to give us our money back and they are now under an ongoing investigation into some complaints about stayo. Don’t book there I lost all of my money and writing this so no other person will experience what happened to me (something that ruined my vacation).

COMPLETE SCAM! Did not end up staying here because they REFUSED to tell us where the apartment was unless me provided them with more money - they asked for us to pay them a deposit - which we paid - and then requested MORE MONEY on the day of our check in and would not share the apartment location until we paid that. Because we didn't pay it we were left with NO HOTEL IN LONDON and then after booking another hotel quickly after we're informed that we were not entitled to a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE - IT IS A TOTAL SCAM.

I was planning a trip with my parents and wife and suddenly I received an email my booking was cancelled without any reason. Now its impossible to get another place for the same value. To help even more, I will receive my money back only between 7~15 days from now. Honestly I'm devastated and don't know what do to.

The location is good at the apartment in good quality. BUT it was a buraucratic nightmare. They do not just accept dealing with *********** but have their own hopeless portal. First we paid *********** them we had to upload our credit card again in Stayos portal etc. I think I have received more than 20 emails from them just to stay three days. Their internet didnt work and showed to be extremely slow once they found out themselves how to reboot the router. However - much much worse is the fact that the apartment was not noise insulated towards the street. We literally did not sleep for three nights in a row,because of extremely loud music from a night club across the street and bike taxis also playing loud music. The apartment only have 3 mm single glass and large windows. We could just as well have slept on the street. We can NOT recommend this property nor the management or company, Stayo. Save your money anf find another place - or sleep in the street.

Stayo Apartments Barking Wharf. No answer on the phone number. They allready charged the booking fee, but we never checked in because we could not contact Them. Have tried to cancel the booking…. Wrote e-mail with my phone number, but no Call.

Well I booked this apartment for a romantic trip with my partner, I received an email asking for passport details and lots of other questions that I didn’t think necessary. The worst of it was that wanted a security deposit of £250 before I even received the keys. I then tried to contact them and didn’t receive a response after two days of calling I even left voicemails. This worried me so I contacted *********** and explained then contacted the apartment to ask for a refund and they declined which I thought would happen. Just imagine if it was the day of the booking I had payed the security deposit and I couldn’t get hold of them?? Warning to everyone do not book with these.

I stayed here for three nights with my mum and two daughters. Our two bedroom apartment was perfect. Rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped. Stayo were very easy to communicate with before, during and after our visit. Would recommend to others and will definitely use again.

The flat itself was spacious and nice, especially considering the great location in the heart of Covent Garden. We appreciated being able to get early check in, though communication was difficult. They seem to only respond during 9-5 hours which is difficult when you are traveling or communicating from different time zones. It didn't look like photos (though they tell you this in the listing) and the second bedroom was in a loft that was cute but very very hot. This would have been good to know at booking (two stories are not pictured or noted), which was challenging with a toddler and elderly person. But that would have been ok. It gets a lot worse. We booked this place for one night in hopes of having a relaxing end to a 10-day trip with my mom (75) and daughter (3), to be able to enjoy London for the day and get a good night's rest before a long flight back to the U.S. the next morning. Unfortunately, that was not what we got. The lighting throughout most of the flat is operated by touchscreen consoles spaced throughout the place. One of these was literally hanging off the wall from the wires. And here's the big problem: THEY DID NOT WORK. The LIGHTS didn't operate. The "Turn All Off" option did nothing. We pressed the button. We held down the button. Nothing. A neighbor across the hall reported that hers worked fine so obviously #7 has a wiring problem. After tinkering for an hour, we gave up and were left with blazing, oppressive light on overnight in the living space and kitchen. The loft bedroom happens to look right into this space through a window that has no curtain, so one of us essentially slept with the lights blazing all night. When we called to report this and ask for help, the response was that there was nothing they could do and that maintenance would come the morning. I asked if we could move to another apartment that had working lights so that we could actually sleep there, and the person on the other end said she couldn't help with this. She did seem empathetic, but couldn't help us. When we brought it up with the corporation, including sending videos and photos to document the faulty lights, they initially offered us a 20% discount on a future stay. You couldn't pay me to stay in a Stayo again, given their complete lack of understanding of what hospitality entails. Eventually they offered us a 15% discount so we still spent more than $500 to stay in a place where the LIGHTS DON'T WORK. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep and were frustrated and grumpy for the end of a trip (where we stayed in other air bnb's that were lovely and gracious). Here are the other things we experienced: 1. The lift was broken while we were there! Lift access was in the first sentence of the description. We specifically booked a place with a lift because we were traveling with an elderly person with mobility issues, a 3-year-old, and a ton of baggage. Not great. No offer from anyone to help with bags--again "someone will fix it tomorr

Avoid at all costs..... If you can find the front door behind all the bins and rubbish you've done well. Once inside youll be welcomed by the strong smell of urine, the place is filthy, the carpets, the walls, the furniture are all disgusting, the mattress is absolutely filthy. I could go on but.....the simple fact is, it's absolutely disgusting. One more point, make sure you take a photo of where you leave the spare keys on your departure, they will say they can't find them and charge your card £100 for a new set. Fortunately I learnt this lesson a few years ago in London so I make sure I take a quick photo and video of things before I leave.
