We had an amazing stay at the Leonardo royal hotel. Staff went above and beyond for my son’s birthday. They wrote happy birthday on the mirror and gave him a card a chocolates. We were upgraded to an executive room and I can not fault it. It was beautiful and clean and very comfy. The view from the room looked over the shard and the hotel itself self is within walking distance from a lot of attractions. We had the best stay and would definitely return.

First and foremost after I had made the booking for this hotel, I ended up finding a much better price on another website, which was extremely cheaper for the same room I wanted. Secondly, the reviews I found about this hotel were really good, however, the experience we had did not reflect this. As we walked into the room they gave us , it was really messy, with the bed sheets all over the place, slippers and bath robes left untidy on the chairs and floor and rubbish left on the floor. It was funny, because a welcome not was actually left for us saying, “It was a pleasure to clean your room” which was clearly not the case. So they moved us to another room, with a less appealing view than our previous room. The best they could do to apologise for this was give us two free mocktails as we don’t drink, and considering there’s only two mocktails on the menu, we though this was pathetic considering the good things I’ve seen about the hotel. The main reason why we booked this hotel was because of the free access to the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We were yet again very disappointed. The jacuzzi was just not hot enough, it was lukewarm. The steam room wasn’t really a steam room and I was told there seemed to be issues with it anyway. The only good things in there were the swimming pool and the sauna which was actually quite lovely. However, overall, it wasn’t what we expected considering the good reviews we had seen online, it was very busy and loud. So it wasn’t relaxing at all. One of the lifts were out of service, which was a huge inconvenience, as it left everyone suffering extremely long waiting times to get up and down the only other lift which was available. We ended up having dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and yet again this was a huge disappointment. It was a small menu and considering it was Valentine’s Day one would think they would have everything that they’re offering on the menu. However, this was not the case. We both ordered steaks, and they turned round and told us they had no steaks in the kitchen. Like seriously how can you have no steak in the kitchen?!! We were about to leave and find somewhere else to eat but we settled with an alternative. The sleep we had was very uncomfortable and the pillows were awful. I would have much preferred to have slept at a Premier Inn. The breakfast wasn’t too bad. Had a bit of everything, from English breakfast to cereals and pastries. Overall, very disappointed with the hotel , food and experience we had. Definitely won’t be going there again.

So happy when we arrived. Everywhere was clean and quiet. The staff are lovely and made sure that we knew everything we needed to know. The spa facilities are great. You can use the steam room, sauna, pool and the jacuzzi which I loved so much, also use rhe gym and pay for spa treatments which is reasonable priced. The shower in the room wow was lovely and hot wnd powerful. I spent so long in there i didnt wanna get out lol. This was a well deserved time for us both. We will defo be coming back in the future. Easy to find as well. There is also a parking g place round the corner which was not far at all a 1 min walk back to the hotel. Weatherspoons was next door also. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. See you all real soon.

Oof what can I say, I've never cleaned a hotel room that thoroughly before in my life. First of all, the lobby had no queuing management at all, whilst there was a line of guests waiting to be checked in, someone would always sneak past the queue and get to the front desk and the staff does nothing about it. There wasn't too many staff around and it wasn't that late, we got there at around 6pm. We had a room change during this stay as the first room was really dirty. There was stain and hair on the bedsheets and the toilet itself had dirty stain as well. The hot water took around 5-10 mins to become hot. Minibar was broken when I was checking the room. When we called them to inform about the broken minibar, they insisted that it was not broken and the minibar is a minibar, not a fridge so you can't store your personal items in it. Although I was taken aback on them saying a minibar is not a fridge, I told them that it was really broken instead of the usage of it, like part of it was falling off... They didn't listen and just said thanks for the information then did nothing. Eventually we went down to do the room change after showing them the pictures and complaining. After the room change, it was "cleaner" than the other room but it was still not clean. There were teabag wrappers near the minibar area, coffee stain on the table and dust near a mirror. Furthermore, I was given a card saying that there would be 2 bottles of water refilled daily during the check in. We came back and we saw that the housekeeping forgot about that and also the sanitary bags so we called down to the reception for it. A gentleman answered the call and he said they'll be sent right up. After 15 minutes, no one came and I called down to the reception again, a lady picked up and said no bottled water will be given on the 2nd night onwards and no one will come up for the refills. There's a serious gap between the dtaff communication. They tried to make up for it by offering us free breakfast but the breakfast was not that great as the chef burnt our omelette. :/ We didn't take the free breakfast offer afterwards. Oh and this hotel is near Aldgate which does not have a lift, so better go out at Tower Hill if you're carrying heavy items. Not gonna stay here for the second time, it's too dirty for a 4-star hotel.
