Overall, our stay at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern was a mix of truly beautiful elements and areas that left room for improvement. The property itself is stunning, the location is exceptional, and the staff we interacted with were kind and welcoming. We enjoyed the comfort of our room, the ease of walking to world-class wineries and restaurants, and the overall charm of the grounds. At the same time, several aspects — from service touches to dining, bar experience, and amenity quality — didn’t quite match the luxury price point, especially considering what comparable hotels offer. With a few thoughtful enhancements, this could easily be a standout five-star destination. As it stands today, we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning, especially if rates were more aligned with the experience or if the property leans further into creating a more consistently high-end, polished guest experience.

This is one of the greatest hotel experience I have ever had in my life. The property is lovely, the staff went above-and-beyond at every opportunity and we will be returning to the property as soon as possible.

made a last minute decision to go to Los Olivos, wanted something easy and close to wine tasting...resort was fantastic, room was great, staff was impressive...wished we had more time there!! Awesome experience.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Inn. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, we received impeccable service from the entire staff. Everyone was extremely helpful with questions we asked about wineries to try, hotel amenities, etc. For a luxury hotel, the Inn is luxurious without pretension. It may have something to do with Los Olivos and the warm and inviting nature of the people there too. Highly recommend. We will be back next year...

Such a special place. This was our second stay and even better than the first (Jan. 2025) as the weather was outstanding , and we could experience the pool. I didn't even feel the need to leave the resort with the outstanding service, very attractive wine country style, great food and beverage program. We only left to go to Bell's and Bar Le Cote and a walk up Ballard Canyon Road. I would sit in front of the fireplace in the Tavern for a morning mimosa. So cozy as mornings and evenings are chilly. The pool is super comfy and relaxing with very attentive servers. Great cocktails and burger/fries. The rooms are also super comfy with great style. This trip I had a broken collarbone, and I felt so comfortable and well cared for. Super breakfast with Huevos rancheros. The staff is all super knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. Our room was not available so they gave us an even better room and sent over smores kits. I can't wait to return.

Beautiful facility - Luxurious but intimate and quaint- fabulous staff all throughout stay- from front desk in check in , to dining, Bar staff, Porters, spa staff - Highly recommend for an escape out of LA in a 5+ star facility!

Nice staff and room was fine, but the room fronted onto the highway and the sound of the cars was extremely loud, which made using the outdoor space unpleasant. The room also did not insulate from the sound which meant we had to wear earplugs at night. For $800+ a night I was surprised at this.

A+ from A to Z. Super friendly staff, wonderful ambiance, perfect location. Gorgous rooms. Great restaurant. High quality food. Walking distance to town center and wine tasting. Highly recommend it.
