Pier Hotel

Went for dinner - would not go back. Should have stayed at the Cliff hotel nearby for dinner there, much better service and friendlier staff.

We stayed in room 108 for three nights. The room is exceptional, the bed is incredibly comfortable. The layout of the room it's self is perfect. The room comes with robes, fluffy towels, fresh water, plentiful items in the tea caddy. Aircon available (at no extra cost) there is a safe in the large cupboard along with an iron and in the top cupboard an extra blanket if needed. Double glazed windows, sea view and a lovely table and chairs under the window. The housekeeping team go above and beyond. Room service is available, we had breakfast delivered to our room every morning. It arrived hot and was presented really well. There are two bars, lovely outdoor seating area too. The bar staff are pleasant and helpful and the reception team are second to none. If you are reading this and looking for a relaxing break I highly recommend this hotel.

I run a Gorleston Friendship Group and have been having a weekly Wednesday meet up for the last three years at the hotel. We have also held Christmas functions here. I cannot fault the staff as they are friendly, polite, smart and helpful. The food is delicious and varied. Fantastic decor for the period of the hotel. I fully recommend a visit!

Hayley and her team were very welcoming, professional and organised when I attended the Pier for my mother in law's wake. Their service was exemplary. The room was perfect for our small gathering as was the food. Thank you so much for everything.

I have stayed here many times before and was brought up in Gorleston as a child. It’s always lovely to return as the staff are just so friendly. I’m always a solo traveller here. It’s where I come to decompress and relax. I always feel comfortable eating in the restaurant in my own and there is usually someone to chat to anyway. The food is good quality and good portion size, but I felt the prices were quite high this time. I have a favourite room (204) which has a fantastic sea view and a balcony. It’s not the biggest room in the hotel and was not an available this time unfortunately. I stayed in another Premier Sea view room (108.) It’s huge and has a brilliant bathroom. It has an adjoining door through to the Sunrise Suite so you could have both rooms if you were a family staying there. I was aware of some TV noise coming through the door in the evening which might bother some people. I much prefer the rooms on the 2nd floor. The sea views on the 1st floor are obstructed by railings and room 108 by solar panels. The lift is handy, but only goes up to the 2nd floor. There are a few steps up to the third floor. All in all a lovely relaxing place to stay and you are virtually on the beach which is fantastic.

Without exception the staff were the most helpful ever. From the checking-in when the receptionist went up to our room to let us in personally, to the young lady in the bar who mixed cocktails for us (her first time) and the staff in the dining room who were most pleasant and helpful. the room itself was way beyond our expectations. It was large, clean and well-equipped. Bathroom was good too. All together a most enjoyable stay.
