Tucked away like a hidden jewel overlooking the Straits of Malacca, this haven unfurled a grand stage for our family adventure, and my, what an enchanting production it was. Upon arrival, we were greeted not merely with the hotel’s signature warm cookie, but a generosity of spirit embodied by Haykal, whose attentiveness would put even the most seasoned concierge to shame. His deft touch secured us a splendid room upgrade, transforming our stay into something decidedly more opulent. The resort’s pool was a veritable aquatic kingdom, shimmering in the July sun, and an instant magnet for the children, who splashed and frolicked as though auditioning for an Olympic synchronized swimming squad. Though the siren call of the beach beckoned, we heeded the staff’s cautionary tale of marauding jellyfish. It turns out, we didn’t miss a thing—so beguiling were the pools, we scarcely gave the sea another thought. Breakfast each morning was a carnival of flavors, a sprawling buffet laden with enough options to make even the most decisive diner pause in awe. From delicate pastries to hearty local delicacies, it was a daily feast fit for emperors. Yet, as with any grand experience, there were minor discordant notes amid the symphony. A persistent flotilla of flies occasionally intruded upon our peace, a reminder that paradise is never entirely without its quirks. Likewise, room service proved leisurely in pace, as if our meals were being prepared on a distant mountaintop before descending ceremoniously to our door. For those who prefer culinary expedience, Grab delivery is a welcome alternative—just be prepared to part with a few extra ringgit for the privilege. Still, these were but tiny clouds in an otherwise brilliant sky. The staff’s warmth, the resort’s sprawling amenities, and the sheer joy on our children’s faces each day conspired to create an unforgettable family retreat. If you seek a place where your spirit can unfurl, where your children’s laughter will echo across sunlit terraces, and where hospitality is more than a gesture but a genuine art, look no further than DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut. We departed with sun-kissed skin, full hearts, and an unspoken promise to return.

Nice hotel, decent buffet breakfast. Location is very secluded and beach is good. Have to rely on hotel food. Nearest town is Manjung which is about half hour drive away. The in-room dine-in/hotel restaurant options are ok, but can be better. Ingredients quality and quantity in some of the meals can greatly be improved, considering its Hilton. We ordered Pizza and it was not great. Satay is hard and dry and so small size. Was told they recently changed menu but sadly it has changed to be worst. However, top-notch service from all employees. Pool is great. Rooms can consider providing additional bed on request even for the smaller rooms as space is adequate actually. The housekeeping staff provides service to convert the sofa into a mini bed as shown in the picture below. So sufficient for 2 adults and 2 small children. All in pleasant trip.

Overall experience was great. Friendly staff, clean room, comfy bed. Location is at least 15km away from town, so not too convenient for outside food. Food was tasty, but not so fancy about flies even tho there are fans available to help keeping them away. Great for families with kids, as there are activities to keep them occupied.
