"Linda at the lounge was exceptionally warm and provided excellent service. In the evenings, she crafted special cocktails that were both visually appealing and delicious. Our room was upgraded upon check-in to a spacious one on the 25th (highest) floor, offering a fantastic view. Zora proactively contacted us by phone to inquire about our room preferences and even arranged a late checkout for us. The bedding was soft and clean, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties. The hotel's location is superb, surrounded by numerous dining options. The large Mixc City shopping mall is just a vibrant 5-minute walk away. For a city like Shantou, known for its relaxed pace, this hotel is an incredibly convenient choice for tourists."

"Still craving Shantou cuisine since last summer, this was my second stay at the Golden Gulf Hotel. Its location is superb, being close to the city center and just a 10-minute walk from Longyan South Road Snack Street, which is bustling with eateries. The hotel lobby is spacious and bright, and the front desk staff were very welcoming. Check-in was efficient and smooth. The rooms are spacious, elegantly and comfortably decorated. The bed was soft, the room was neat and clean, and came with all the necessary amenities. The hotel's fitness facilities are well-equipped, and there's also a heated swimming pool – perfect for working off all the delicious food after a culinary tour! I was delighted to meet 'Tuhao Ge' again; he was incredibly enthusiastic, recommending excellent dining spots and travel itineraries for the Chaoshan region. I'm truly thankful for the encounter! This time, I also had the opportunity to try the Chinese restaurant on the second floor. Every dish was freshly prepared by hand, making them healthy, fresh, and delicious. Overall, the Shantou Golden Gulf Hotel excels in its facilities, service quality, and location, making it an ideal choice for business or leisure travelers to Shantou. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit."

"This is an established hotel located in Shantou's older district, which appears to have undergone recent renovations. The rooms feature a contemporary, minimalist business design, and the cleanliness is quite good. The lobby, however, is a bit simple. The location is excellent. Shantou boasts an incredible array of delicious food, and within easy walking distance of the hotel, there are far too many eateries to try them all. It's perfect for a leisurely stroll back to the hotel to walk off all that food! The only minor downside is that the hotel doesn't seem to differentiate between smoking and non-smoking rooms. This can be problematic as some guests occasionally smoke in their rooms with their doors ajar, allowing the smell to drift out and affect others."

"The hotel is an established five-star property that has recently been renovated, so the room facilities are still very good. Its location is also excellent, right next to MixC City and Longyan South Road Food Street, offering an incredible array of dining options – you'd never be able to try them all! There's a swimming pool on the rooftop of the annex building, which is independently operated. Access is typically limited to two people per room. Fortunately, the staff member in charge was very accommodating and kindly allowed our family of two adults and two children to enter for free!"

The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, patiently recommending local eateries and sightseeing routes. Our room was clean, comfortable, and refreshingly odor-free. It truly offers excellent value for money! I forgot to book breakfast, but I'm glad I chose to dine at the hotel; the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options. They even allowed a complimentary late check-out, which was a very thoughtful touch!"

The hotel staff were excellent, and Ella, from customer service, was absolutely amazing! She contacted us a day before our arrival to understand our check-in preferences and arranged a room with a beautiful view for us. Her attentive, thoughtful, and enthusiastic service throughout our stay made our family trip truly delightful. We left with a wonderful impression of Shantou city! In Shantou, we also got to savor some incredibly delicious hotpot, 'sheng yan' (local raw seafood dish), and various other local snacks! I would highly recommend staying at the Shantou Marriott Hotel to all my friends and family. A huge thank you again to Ella for her exceptional service! "This designated five-star hotel is conveniently located very close to Shantou Station. Both the exterior and the lobby are quite grand, and the service is excellent. I even added a front desk staff member on WeChat, who proactively offered to arrange my drop-off at the station, which was very thoughtful. Upon entering the lobby, there was an unpleasant odor, which felt like a damp and musty smell from old carpets. I'd suggest they use an air freshener or air purifier in the lobby to alleviate this. While the room facilities were a bit dated, the cleanliness was decent. The gym and outdoor swimming pool looked quite appealing, and I'd be keen to try them out on a future stay."

A quick 10-minute taxi ride from the station brought me to this bamboo-themed Chao Hotel. The entire journey was incredibly smooth. As a photographer who travels frequently for work and loves to explore, I was genuinely impressed by the hotel's design aesthetics and meticulous attention to detail. 🏨 Design and Ambiance: The hotel masterfully integrates bamboo elements, from the lobby's bamboo art and the corridors' bamboo-patterned walls to the woven bamboo lampshades in the guest rooms. This creates a beautiful blend of Eastern Zen aesthetics and modern simplicity everywhere you look. The atmosphere is tranquil and elegant, perfect for unwinding, and it's incredibly photogenic. 📍 Prime Location: For tourists, the location couldn't be better! It's right next to Zhujiang Road Food Street, meaning authentic beef hotpot, kway teow (rice noodles), and local raw seafood dishes are just a few minutes' walk downstairs – perfect for late-night cravings. Major attractions like Xiao Park and the Old Town are also only about a 20-minute drive away, making it a one-stop hub for dining, entertainment, and sightseeing. 🛏️ Guest Rooms and Hygiene: The room was spacious and bright, with incredibly comfortable bedding and brand-new, complete facilities. What truly stood out was the impeccable cleanliness; I felt completely at ease walking barefoot on the floor. The wet/dry separation in the shower was also very well-done. The hotel offers unique activities: a Hong Tao Guo (a traditional sweet glutinous rice cake) demonstration at 8 PM, lasting about half an hour. Late-night snacks are served from 9:30 PM to 11 PM, including simple congee with side dishes, sweet soup, and kway teow soup. BBQ is available until 1 AM, and they even have regular Teochew Opera performances on weekends! 🌟 Overall Experience: The cleanliness of Shantou city truly exceeded my expectations, and the Chao Hotel undoubtedly enhanced my trip significantly. The staff were friendly and incredibly responsive. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this hotel offers exceptional value for money. "You can fully immerse yourself in Teochew culture right here at the hotel, without needing to step out. While the staff may not be numerous, every single person is wonderful. Unlike the impersonal service often found in chain hotels, this place truly feels like home. Vast and Linda, in particular, are incredibly engaging and helpful – such genuinely lovely people! Even the room service attendant and the cleaning staff always greeted us with warm, friendly smiles. The cleanliness is also impeccable; there wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere. You could even run barefoot on the outdoor stone paths. Breakfast is another highlight. Having stayed in several hotels in Chaoshan over the past few days, this was the only one that truly offered authentic Teochew-inspired breakfast options, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. An 'auntie' staff member saw us with our children and kindly offered them some German-made candies with good ingredients. Both the mini-bar selections and the bathroom amenities were also of excellent quality. The hotel also has a resident cat, Xiongda, who is incredibly adorable with his short legs. When the front desk staff noticed I wanted to pet him, they even offered me a cat treat stick. The next day, I wanted to give Xiongda another treat, but the front desk attendant kindly informed me that he had already had two for the day and couldn't have more. It's clear they genuinely care for the cat and prioritize his well-being. I'll definitely be visiting other hotels in the 'You Xiong' series in the future. What particularly impressed me was noticing, while walking around, that the hotel is equipped with an AED. This suggests the owner is truly thoughtful and responsible – very impressive! However, one minor point for improvement is that the room felt a little too much like a display suite, making it perhaps a bit too business-oriented for a relaxing holiday."
