We booked three rooms for a family trip. After comparing for a long time, this is the most satisfactory hotel we have stayed in Switzerland. Although there are not many small rooms, it is very convenient to get in and out. It is near the train station and the hotel facilities are very new. If you like creative hotels, don't miss this one. The king-size bed room is very comfortable, and the toiletries are all L'Occitane, which is very good for people like me who pursue quality and have a relative cleanliness obsession. The key is that the children are very satisfied!

We traveled to Lucerne with our good friend to celebrate his 70th birthday. Everything about our week-long stay was truly wonderful from check-in to check-out. The front desk staff—Maura, Simeon, Florian, Giselle, Sophie—were all so pleasant and professional. Breakfast each morning in the restaurant was superb. Mazzi and Monica took excellent care of us with perfectly cooked eggs and omelettes. Both girls also have delightful personalities ☺️. The entire staff we encountered at The Hotel made us feel very welcome, and were quite helpful with dinner reservations and in recommending sights to see/places to go during our time there. Our room was beautiful, clean, quiet, and well-appointed. Can’t think of a single negative!

I hate to have to write a bad review, and I’d love to be able to give this property more stars as the staff were great, but we were disappointed with our stay. Pros: - location - Rooms were clean - we were upgraded and the suite was spacious (bathroom was nothing special). Cons: - The WiFi didn’t work. It would disconnect every 5 minutes and when it was connected it was slow. On top of that, cell service wasn’t great so using the internet wasn’t good. - the TV is not a Smart TV. There are no apps and only about 10 cable channels (3 news channels in English but nothing else). Much of the menu is disabled as well so switching the TV to English was a huge challenge. There is screen mirroring but our devices could never find the TV to connect (most likely because of the WiFi problem above). - the hotel was noisy. I chose this property over the Renaissance as I read the music was obnoxious at that hotel. Come to find out, this hotel also had a loud music problem the night we were there. I heard techno music for hours while trying to fall asleep.

A mixed bag of thoughts on this hotel so I’ll break it out by category: Location: 5 stars. Hotel is located in a spot that can’t be beat to visit Lucerne. Easily accessible during the day to come back and freshen up and on a quieter side street with many restaurants that feel more for locals than tourists. Loved the location and also very easy walk from train station and to old town. Like less than half a mile. Staff: 5 stars also for the staff who were very friendly and eager to help. Hotel amenities and common spaces: 2 stars. The hotel is a sister property of a renaissance down the street so the gym available is the gym in the renaissance. However, i think an autograph collection needs its own on site fitness situation. Additionally the lobby is nearly nonexistent with just 2 couches. Hallways are very brutalist style feeling with red walls. On site dining/bar: 2 stars. The breakfast was lovely and the staff there were very friendly. No complaints on breakfast. However the lounge/ bar as heavily advertised by Marriott for this site are kind of a fake out. The bar is always empty because it does not allow people who are not hotel guests to visit although it is beautiful and enticing from the outside and draws people in only to be told it’s only for guests. However if you’re a guest it feels awkward to go to the bar because the front desk staff have to make the drinks. There is no bartender and it is not a welcoming area. Room: 3 stars. We got a suite upgrade (we were happy they honored our Marriott titanium status and did this) but the suite was not a suite at all. It was just a larger room (normal sized for American standards.) It had a larger bathroom that included a tub but there was no separate seating area. Otherwise room was clean and maintained with ample storage and a refrigerator and coffee.

Our stay was incredible from start to finish. Front desk was extra helpful and granted us a status upgrade (Platinum - which doesn't always get me much). The suite was well-appointed, clean, with bedding that felt like a cloud. The biggest surprise was breakfast. The food was excellent, but what made it special was Mazzi, our daily breath of fresh air. She was warm but efficient. Her execution was perfect, even though she was running breakfast by herself most mornings. I hope she is well-taken-care-of. She's a star.

This is a lovely hotel in the best location. We were able to walk to and from the train station with all our luggage! While the hotel is set on a main, busy street, there is a side entrance that is quieter. The lobby is small and not much there but it is clean and the front desk staff was lovely. We had a suite but really it was just a smidge larger than your average room. It was nicely decorated and all clean. The hotel does not have true “air conditioning.” They have a cooling system but you can not control the temperature. Therefore our room was not a comfortable temperature. The windows did open but our neighbors were smoking and the smell kept coming in through the windows. The hotel is in a great location, right by the river and a quick walk to the shopping area and the chapel bridge. We did not have any meals at the hotel as we were surrounded by many other dining choices. This hotel was good for a short stay in Lucern. Due to the air conditioning issue I would not stay here again in the summer.

I booked a King or Twin room, but I'm a platinum member and also have upgrade certificates so I requested and was given a lovely upgrade to a large suite. Yay! All great--until I went to confirm I could have two separate beds (almost every king bed in Europe is just 2 twins and I'm traveling with a platonic friend so I didn'tthink this would be an issue). The hotel said I couldn't POSSIBLY have 2 beds unless I paid $130+ PER NIGHT for a rollaway. The rollaway that they have laying around that costs them nothing, particularly since I offered to set it up myself and wasn't trying to add a 3rd person (which is why I'm guessing there's a charge in the first place). Instead of this solution, they downgraded me to a basic Twin room that is tiny and dark and dingy (peeling paint etc) with a ton of street noise. This trip is to celebrate my friend's work accomplishment and I'm EMBARRASSED to bring her to this property, which is in a worse area than the other reservation I booked. I typically choose Marriott because they treat me well (especially now that I'm a platinum member), but I'm seriously questioning that now! It's been just the opposite here. And aside from all that, it's a bad room in a bad location. I wish Id kept my original reservation but of course they wouldn't let me cancel without charging a boatload. Save yourself a headache and book somewhere else when visiting Lucerne!!

If it was possible, I would like to give 0 stars or minus stars, the check in experience was one of the most humiliating experience I ever had. As Titanium member (and Lifetime Platinum member) in Marriott Bonvoy, trust me I have been in many Marriott Group Facility. I used one of the award upgrade to suite room , and get a penthouse suite where we can be three persons, therefore I bring our teenage daughter together in the trip. For 10+ years, Marriott Group hotel has treat us as value members and welcome her despite the booking is not matched. NONE of the Marriott Group hotel has ever charged us extra or even force me to sign a penalty fee ticket for extra person. I was completely disappointed and shocked. The worst is when I feedback it to the hotel, no sign of regret or improvement was found. We just stayed in Renaissance Zürich Tower Hotel, the service and attitude is impeccable, they even told us that she will let hotel that is with a teenage daughter and they take care of the rest. It is very pity, with a better management and team that can handle and treat loyal members, this facility can be a real gem in Luzern. Now it just looks good outside with awful service. Avoid it if you don’t mind to be humiliated.

This boutique hotel was in a great location across from a park, but close to Old Town Lucerne and to many good restaurants. The staff were all great, especially Simon, who was at the front desk. Our room was very large, on the corner and had a great view of the park. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was nice and had all the amenities one needs. Breakfast was a nice selection and we ate well everyday. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
