The hosts, Ruth and Phil couldn't be more helpful & friendly, the room was brilliant, super clean and breakfast was excellent. Ideal location with a pretty stroll into the town and seafront. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Ruth and Phil were absolutely excellent hosts at this wonderful family run guesthouse. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left - they were full of useful information that made our stay truly superb. The room we had was super clean and very well thought out. Little things like - having a mirror above a shelf for make up, suitable lighting , full length mirror, hooks in bathroom to dry towels, plenty of sockets at variable heights etc. Vegetarian sausages were an option for brekkie (many places STILL do not offer this!) Breakfast service was exceptional…and a great range of choices to suit every palate. Charnwood was in a brilliant location. 2 mins down the road you could turn right - into Lyme Regis (10 min walk)- or left along the river path to Uplyme (30 mins) .The whole area was full of charm. Thatched roof cottages, little bridges connecting houses and streets …we adored it. We both can highly recommend this property as a wonderful place to stay whilst visiting the area. You won’t be disappointed. X

We found an absolute gem when booking this accommodation. Quiet location, comfortable bed, clean. Lovely full English breakfast. Perfect hosts, friendly and most helpful. Should we visit Lyme Regis again this will be our first choice.

Single room I received a warm welcome on arrival and was briefed on the local area. The single room met with all my needs, was clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again.

Yet another excellent stay at Charnwood. The hosts couldn't be more helpful & friendly, the room was brilliant, breakfast was very good. Ideal location too, the walk into town & the seafront is not only not taxing, it's a really pretty stroll as well. Parking was easy Can't recommend it highly enough.

Great hospitality by Phil and Ruth, they could give a master class! Warmly welcomed and given room attic room at the top which also had a sitting area and great views from the windows overlooking Lyme. Private parking at back and a flat walk into Lyme and the beach - a blessing in hilly Lyme! Thank you very much Phil and Ruth - a lovely stay.
