An absolutely stunning hotel, have just been renovated (30 months they say) and what a result, but most importantly the staff are absolutely top notch each one of them with an exceptional customer attention. I have 100 nights out a year and this hotel is one to remember

In one word—Exceptional! From the moment we arrived till our departure our experience was exceptional. This includes the restaurants. The staff we so helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty. We would stay here again without hesitation and we so look forward to it.

Excellent hotel with a beautiful and enchanting building, a perfect location, and outstanding services. Nothing more to add, just live the experience.

Hands down the best hotel we have stayed in. Everything was exceptional, from the gorgeous location to the Renaissance architecture to the large, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. We were prepared for subpar air conditioning, but even that exceeded expectations. Most of all, though, it was the staff and their superior service and attention to detail that would make me recommend this truly outstanding hotel in this most beautiful part of Lyon.

The historic building is stunning, especially on the inside, and it is one street away from the main tourist drag of the Old Town yet managed to feel separate from it. The downside of the location is that the taxi refused to take us to the hotel and we had to drag our bags for a few hundred meters through the throng of tourists to the hotel. Not the fault of the hotel, per se, but an inauspicious start one might expect a 5* hotel to have planned for or advised about. The hotel itself is thoroughly disappointing. It’s is not finished - spa isn’t ready yet, building work during the day. The bits that are finished are poorly executed. Every expense has been spared. The plastic button-press shower doesn’t work properly, the water oscillates from cold to hot, the finishes are half-arsed, the materials cheap. The bed was wonderfully comfy - on the hard side of firm - and the aircon was quiet and effective. The room was very quiet, but that was because it had no outside windows - instead having bizarrely toughened glass windows that faced into the corridor, which was itself the walkway of a private covered traboul, which is a delightful design touch but leads to a very dark room. The always-on corridor lights combined with the fact the curtains don’t close properly and no blackout blinds gave it a ‘student halls’ feel and quite how you can build a hotel in 2025 and not put plugs by the bed for phones is insane. The staff were lovely and friendly, but unwilling or unable to do anything about the flaws of the hotel. At the end of the day it is a standard Radisson hotel (derogatory) - that are obviously used to doing new-build designs - squeezed and compromised into a beautiful old building with little planning or thought into the consequences of this, which is then billed like a Mandarin Oriental. As a historical building with lovely friendly people in it, it’s a success. As a hotel, it’s an absolute failure. It would be fairly priced at a third of the price.

Hotel was closed despite pre-paid reservation! We had a pre-paid reservation through a booking service. We arrived last night in Lyon and had difficulty locating the hotel (it's in the pedestrian part of the old city). We tried calling the hotel 20 times with no answer. We finally located the hotel at 8:30 pm and rang the bell many times. No answer. Eventually asked the restaurant across the way if they knew anything, they told us the hotel was closed and wasn't opening until later this week. After a long day of travel, we had to hastily try to find another hotel. And now we have to deal with the booking agency and Radisson, who owns this hotel, to get a refund. This was not how we plan to spend our vacation if I could rate this hotel management zero I would.

A real gem of a hotel. Tucked away in the old town, with amazing interiors and lovely large rooms. Pretty and quiet garden which is up at the top of the hotel (that will make sense when you see it…). Really friendly staff who are so helpful. The breakfast is amazing. One of the best I have ever experienced!!!

This hotel is conveniently located in old Lyon so it’s easy to get to most of the main attractions. They serve an excellent breakfast buffet worth taking advantage of because you’ll need the energy to handle all the walking you’ll do. The bar is nice and they even have a few street facing tables so you can people watch. The bartender will bring you an inherently French cocktail that will become your new favorite! The room I stayed in was very nice and well appointed but it would not have been a good room to share - thus 4 stars. There is no separation between the bedroom and the tub - which is literally next to the bed and then a glass enclosed shower where if you’re sharing a room, there is no privacy whatsoever. Sink is also in the room. The toilet at least is behind a closed door but it’s a small area and a large person would have great difficulty getting in and out.

The hotel is now closed. I walked by today and there is signage indicating a renovation. Great location in very charming Old Town. Surprised there is no notation of that on this site. I am not aware of a 5-star hotel Old Town, so this would be good addition.
