Studio City Hotel

This is the first time I've ever given such a review for a hotel, but the service was terrible, the room facilities were bad, and the breakfast was awful. It was uncomfortable from start to finish. I've been to Macau several times, but never had such a frustrating experience. Don't believe their 'hunger marketing' tactics when they claim only one or two rooms are left. And once you book, forget about canceling; they won't miss a single penny, not even for guests feeling unwell. They force you to stay and endure their horrible service. To add insult to injury when you're already feeling sick! Starting with the room, the decor is basically motel-level; nothing aesthetic about it, clearly designed to save every possible cent. The water in the room comes in glass bottles that they 'recycle', making you wonder what they're refilling them with. The snacks are just cheap, additive-filled junk food from wholesale. The service is poor, lacking professionalism; it's worse than the polite greetings and attitudes you'd find at a budget hotel. Communication was difficult and infuriating. Wynn allows anyone, even outsiders, to ride their cable car for free, but here, hotel guests have to pay for the Ferris wheel. That just shows how stingy they are, and at over a hundred per person, what a rip-off. I paid for it before; it's a quick ride with nothing much to see – a total waste of money. The outdoor pool is also closed. Even if you can't swim, they should open it up so people can take photos in the yard or just sit for a while, right? Do they maintain it all winter? Other hotels have heated pools, but they cut corners and save money, while we hotel guests pay full price. Our money includes facility usage, so if they're unusable, why no discount? The breakfast is even more 'interesting' – over two hundred per person for something so unpalatable and with so little variety. It wasn't appetizing to look at or eat, which probably saved them money since no one would overeat. At over 200 per person, they probably pocket 150 profit, just another way to squeeze more money from you. Wouldn't it be better to eat out for 400+ for two people? The hotel is just a grand building on the outside, nothing inside. When I booked, my rose-tinted glasses were on too tight, and I forgot to check the negative reviews. Now that I'm uncomfortable, I remembered to look, and everyone's reviews match my feelings exactly. Regret is too late. After several visits to Macau, this one was enough. Overall, bad rooms, bad service, terrible food, just a grand exterior with nothing inside. The location is also mediocre. If I didn't say the name, you'd think I stayed in some guesthouse (see pic). And all this for over two thousand a day, *chuckles*. A huge disappointment, nested within smaller disappointments.

The room was fantastic, and the service was excellent. They provided special amenities for children. The hygiene was top-notch, very clean with no unpleasant odors. Complimentary snacks like instant noodles were a nice touch. The air conditioning was also incredibly quiet. Extremely satisfied!

The front desk staff were polite and professional! When I asked if I really had to check in after 3 PM and check out before 11 AM the next day, they were very helpful. Perhaps because it was the off-season before the New Year and we didn't mind a room at the very end of the hallway, they arranged an early check-in and extended our check-out time until 1 PM the next day to accommodate our flight schedule. This significantly improved the comfort of our Macau trip, and we even got a room with a view of the Ferris wheel, which was an unexpected bonus. The room's interior design was quite ordinary, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the toiletries were Natura Bissé. The room also came equipped with a multi-functional universal adapter, a kettle, a coffee machine, and plenty of complimentary drinks and snacks. The shopping mall downstairs has a few affordable clothing and cosmetic options. Taking the shuttle bus to City of Dreams, you'll find some unique dining choices there. However, if you're keen on serious shopping in Macau, I'd still recommend the Venetian. This hotel primarily caters to families and is ranked among the best in Asia. Unfortunately, my 'kid' is already 19, so he wasn't interested in the Ferris wheel, shows, or various amusement parks. Therefore, we didn't get to fully experience the hotel's family-friendly features. But if you have younger children, this hotel is definitely the right choice! Tips: The Ferris wheel is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The hotel shuttle is easy to find – just turn right after exiting the airport. Get off at the Studio City stop. To your left is The Celebrity Tower, and to your right is The Star Tower. I checked in at The Celebrity Tower around 4 PM and there was no queue. The staff were very proactive in helping with my luggage. The suite at The Celebrity Tower was incredibly spacious, with a huge bathroom area. The mini-bar was as well-stocked as ever, and I appreciated that the bedside chargers didn't require an adapter. On the ground floor, the Pop Mart store had a full selection of SKULLPANDA figures. Unlike last year, points can no longer be redeemed. Don Quijote is still there, so if you don't want to go to Japan, you can do some shopping at the supermarket. To catch the light rail, turn right from The Celebrity Tower, walk to the end, and go up to the second floor. It's 6 MOP for two stops to Pai Kok, where you'll find plenty of delicious food on Cunha Street.

The room view is fantastic and feels luxurious. It's super convenient for getting around, and there are lots of food options downstairs. Perfect for shopping and exploring! The Don Quijote downstairs has a great variety, and the kids' stuff is adorable, making it ideal for families traveling with children.
