Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16

I bought this suite through a Ctrip group deal. The room was huge and had a very comfortable massage tub. Plus, there was a river view, so I could see both Macau and Shizimen on either side of the river. The breakfast spread was excellent, with plenty of options. I'll definitely be back!

Stayed for 3 days from August 30th to September 1st. It was a non-weekend stay after the summer holiday, so the room rate was excellent. All the front desk staff were very kind and polite, and they offered free luggage storage. This is an old, well-established five-star hotel! The location is great, on the Macau Peninsula. It's about 6 bus stops from Gongbei Port. The hotel is directly across the road diagonally from the bus stop when you get off, and the bus stop for the opposite direction is right at the entrance, making transportation very convenient. It's also a short walk, about ten minutes, to the Ruins of St. Paul's. The room was clean and comfortable, with complete and thoughtful amenities, including electric curtains. Our room had a sea view, overlooking the hotel pool and with Zhuhai Wanzai Pier across the bay (Picture 15). It's about a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal, where you can see ferries traveling between the two terminals. Even the toiletries were from a major French brand. Highly recommended!

Traveling with two daughters, the hotel arranged connecting rooms which were perfect for a family. The two rooms were interconnected, making it very convenient to look after the children 👍. The transportation was incredibly convenient. We took a ferry from Shenzhen to the Macau ferry terminal, then a direct bus (route 26) to the hotel. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel with direct buses to popular areas in Taipa like The Venetian and The Londoner Macao, so we didn't need to take taxis for sightseeing. This offers great value for money for families, highly recommended for family travelers.

A truly perfect trip! Even with the price hike during the National Day holiday, this hotel was still great. They even upgraded us to the presidential suite, and we had the pool all to ourselves! The service was also excellent, thanks to Mike Mark. The kids were absolutely thrilled! 💕 In the evenings, the adults could also head downstairs for a drink 🍺. The hotel also offered a music festival, giving us a wonderful experience of Macau's local music. 🎵

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The hotel environment is excellent, and the rooms are large, clean, and bright. The location is also great, just an 8-minute walk from the Ruins of St. Paul's and Senado Square. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious. The staff were very polite and nice. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Macau!

The worst part of this stay was the soundproofing. There was an inaccessible door in the room, and I could clearly hear the housekeepers next door talking during my afternoon nap. Then, at 7 AM, I heard music and phone calls from the foreigners next door as if they were right beside me. Light sleepers should definitely be cautious when choosing this hotel. There's no way to sleep in. I came here to relax and enjoy my trip, but instead, I was tired all day, which really spoiled the experience. Other aspects were just average, but the poor soundproofing is a major flaw that severely impacted my stay. I hope the hotel takes this seriously and makes improvements.

Definitely avoid the smoking rooms – they reek of damp and mold. The non-smoking rooms, however, are excellent, with fresh air and comfortable bedding. A big shout-out to Manager Cai for helping us switch rooms; it really saved our trip! The shower's hot and cold water mixing was a bit inconsistent, alternating between hot and cold every couple of seconds, but the water pressure was decent. While Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16's facilities are indeed a bit dated, its location is superb. It's just a 6-7 minute walk to Senado Square, and the bus stop right outside offers great connections everywhere. You can scan the QR code on the bus driver's window with WeChat to get a payment code, then scan that code on the sensor to pay for your ride with WeChat. And for a true culinary delight, Geng Ji Dim Sum, located near the hotel, is hands down the best Cantonese dim sum you'll find.
