This hotel is simply incredible! The rooms are so well presented it makes for a luxurious stay! The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms great and products superb. Highly recommend 10/10! Always a treat to stay! P.S. the views from the rooms to the beach are spectacular and you’re just a few steps from the beach; lovely for sunrise and sunset.

The Hotel is rated ( by whom?) as four star. The room was well appointed, however the lack of staff was apparent. On arrival our room had nut shells all over the floor and during our 3rd day no one cleaned our room or made the bed. The staff that were available were very pleasant , but the lack of staff training was obvious with no signs of any management staff over a 5 day stay. The Bar and Restaurant were shut during the whole of our stay . Breakfast was included but was marked by consistently stale bread ,and tinned fruit salad . There is another bar serving food on site. The lady behind the bar was again very pleasant but was unable to connect a new keg when the lager had run out and seemed unaware that it is usual to put lemon in a Gin & Tonic . We had a terrible dinner in this pub/ bar marked by an inedible curry. The daily charge for a double room was £316 . Overall a major disappointment, and a four star hotel it is not!

The four of us were on a three day golfing trip and stayed in one of the cottages. They are excellent and provide you with everything you need, warm , cosy, fantastic sea views immediately outside the windows and for me, most importantly a hot powerful shower. Machrihanish course is two mins walk from the car park and the clubhouse the same distance. One thing I would recommend is to stock up with provisions at nearby Campbeltown as you pass through it on the way to Machrihanish.

My wife and I (both in our mid 70's) stayed for one night while on holiday at the end of July. The accomodation was superb, but the fact that there is no restaurant was a real disappointment and let down. There is a pub next door serving very basic food, but if you want a dining experience you need to drive into Campbeltown 5 miles away. So definitely not ideal. If we travel to the area again, we will look elsewhere, which is sad really, because as I say the accomodation was excellent.

We stayed for a quick 2 night visit. Room was very large (Room 1) had a bay window and a wonderful sea view. Had tea and coffee facilities and we ate in the restaurant/pub belonging to the Hotel. Our meals were very good I had the salad and family had the burgers etc. TOP TIP ring the Hotel when you want to book a stay as they compared very well with booking sites. Breakfast was good. Their staff are really friendly. Other guests were mainly golfers. We are booking there when we go back!

Stayed for three nights. The room with Seaview was spacious with a large double bed with beautiful bedlinen. The housekeeping could have been better. Leaving thick dust on the shaving-mirror arm and switches lacks attention to detail. The breakfast was good with the cooked items hot and tasty. Hot drinks are from flasks although there is an unused coffee machine in the redundant bar. There is no dinner served in the Hotel at present and the Old Clubhouse Pub next door has a very limited menu of predominantly burgers and chips. We found a decent restaurant in nearby Campbeltown called No.42. The Hotel is part of the Macrahanish Dunes Resort ; a glamorous title for a service which lacks the finesse befitting the price of the room. The staff are friendly but I didn't care to have them taking their cigarette breaks outside the front door.

Stayed in The Ugadale Hotel (cottages) for 4 nights (June 16-20) for the first leg of our buddies golf trip. Cottages were great, very comfortable, wonderful large showers, good beds and cozy living rooms. Breakfast had a good variety of choices with quick service for cooked to order items. Dinner was very good in the Hotel restaurant (first night), but we preferred to eat in the clubhouse for the remainder of our stay because of the beautiful view of Machrihanish Bay with wonderful sunsets. Food in the clubhouse was also very good. The only negative thing about this trip and it's not important, was we did not have access to Sky Sports to watch the US Open in our room. The late night walks along the bay of course were far more interesting as it was light well past 10 pm. Played golf at Machrihanish (2 rounds) Machrihanish Dunes (3 rounds) and Dunaverty (1 round). Three completely different but absolutely wonderful tracks. Machrihanish was dry as a bone due to almost 3 weeks of no rain, but was extremely enjoyable non the less. Great golf course and we had loads of fun, that's what golf is all about (what Mother Nature throws at you) in the company of good friends. Machrihanish Dunes had irrigation on the greens and tees with some spectacular ocean views, undulating fairways and multi level greens. A great walk through the beautiful natural dunes. This was another special golf experience. Lorna and Peter in the proshop were wonderful, accommodating and funny which added to the enjoyment. Decided to play a second round one day and headed down to Dunaverty. Approximately 5000 yd course plays like 6500 yds. First 4 holes quite basic and short with cow fences to keep the cows off the greens. Then the climbs ! As a second round our legs were like jello by the time we finished, but there were some really wonderful holes throughout and the views were spectacular. Wonderful views of Dunaverty Rock, Ireland and even the Ailsa Craig from one point I think, or I may have been dizzy from a climb? The square greens were well irrigated and putted very well. All in all, a great little course and well worth playing. Great time had by all and wonderful hotel and clubhouse staff.

We were visiting Cambletown and I had booked this hotel. The lady at the reception desk was so welcoming and polite, my apologies I have forgotten her name. But she was a credit to the hotel, whilst a little pricey the room we were given was a delight and spacious. There is parking on site and a nice inn on the grounds where we had a nice meal. Unfortunately the hotel does not currently offer evening meals due to staffing issues but we had a nice generous breakfast. Definitely worth staying here when visiting this part of Scotland
