Cocobana Beach Resort

I recently stayed at the Cocobana hotel and unfortunately, I had a really terrible time. My first night was plagued by a loud air conditioning unit in my room, which prevented me from getting any sleep. To add insult to injury, there was no water in my room during the second night, making my stay even more uncomfortable. However, the aforementioned issues would have been tolerable had it not been for a very scary incident that occurred during my stay. A local man appeared on the balcony next to mine, claiming to be there for construction work before asking whether I was alone and if my boyfriend was in the room. The resort later confirmed that there was no construction happening, which leads me to believe that the man had nefarious intentions. Needless to say, this incident left me feeling extremely uneasy and unsafe in the hotel. In light of these negative experiences, I ultimately decided to change hotels. To their credit, the Cocobana hotel gave me a refund for the remaining days of my stay. Another redeeming quality of the hotel was its location - situated right in front of the beach and close to dive shops. However, despite its prime location, I cannot recommend the Cocobana hotel to others. The combination of loud and faulty amenities, a lack of water, and a very unsettling encounter with a stranger made my stay there extremely unpleasant. If you're looking for a safe and comfortable stay, I suggest looking elsewhere.

This is the place to be when staying in Malapascua, very nice bungalows, one meter to the Beach, nice swimming pool which our Kids enjoyed all day while we were diving, good food and extremely nice Owners. We spend 5 days here and each member of our family enjoyed every moment, no matter if Kids between 5 and 12 years old, the Grandma to take care or the diving couple Thanks Ratko for the nice conversations we had

Location is okay, beachfront. The landscaping of the resort is not well maintained. Bushes are obstructing the view. We are group of 4 and we were placed at the 2 double bed room. Kinda spacious but we saw rooms good for 3 (can opt for 4 but we were placed for 2 persons room). No WiFi but pretty decent signal (LTE). The room is okay for us but the balcony door cannot be locked. The main issue we had is the room does not get cold in one side. One side is cold enough and one is isn’t. So some of us sleep peacefully while the other 2 sleeps in hell. The towels they provided me are too rough and the reception close early and you might end up banging on the reception’s door in the middle of the night just to help you if you got locked out. Lots of ants with wings which is annoying, it sometimes crawls in your pillow so be careful. Lots of empty rooms but we were placed on the top floor on the end side. Whole building is pretty empty even the rooms below us. Which is annoying since we had luggages. This is the only hotel/resort that I had stayed that required me to pay first upon arrival. No proper lightning on the resort. So you must bring flashlight or your phone flashlight (whichever you prefer that emits light) if you are going out at night. Understaffed also. I only saw was the receptionist and one man with a baby.
