Panviman Chiang Mai Spa Resort

It was truly a magical retreat in the mountains. Very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Beautiful stay overall!

The location is in the middle of nowhere. It’s nice to see the greenery, but unfortunately it’s impossible to walk around the area. The only option is to take a Grab, and it’s not cheap since nothing is close by. It is cheaper than the transportation that can be arranged by the hotel though. The sights are about half way between the hotel and the city, and it makes just as much sense to go from the city. The pool is nice, but apart from that there’s nothing else to do. And we got tired of the food very quickly. If you like the Asian wok-mix from the frozen food aisle in Europe, it’s great. Very bland and far too expensive for the quality. I don’t mind paying for quality, but then I also expect something good. We had better food at a random roadside eatery at just a fraction of the price. What annoyed me was the way they pushed us to order desserts. We already ordered several dishes and wine, but apparently it wasn’t enough. The staff smiles, but somehow we didn’t feel prioritized. We spent a lot of time waiting for the cars that unfortunately are necessary to get around the place. At one point we gave up and walked up the hill from the pool. Not so easy in slippers. Our room was on the first floor looking into the bushes, perhaps some of the rooms above have an actual view. The room smelled musty and fabric felt humid. Everything seemed old and not that well maintained. We felt trapped and couldn’t stay as long as we had planned. It was worth it to leave early and go to a better place.

We had such an amazing time. Spent a week relaxing by our private pool (the water could have been warmer). The spa is AMAZING!! Definitely need to get a massage or 2! Staff were so friendly and helpful with getting us places and the food was great!
