Hotel Goldenes Fass

We were on a cycling tour with two couples. We had booked the package including bed and breakfast, a welcome drink, a packed lunch, and free bicycle parking. Unfortunately, no one was available at the specified check-in time. We were able to get the code for the door safe using the room keys over the phone. However, one of the specified keys was missing, and we were changed rooms. We were supposed to temporarily store the bikes in the hallway – so the e-bikes had to be lugged up the entrance stairs first. Late in the evening, we received a phone call saying we should come to check-in for the formalities, and we were given a bottle of beer as a welcome drink. The rooms were fine, but the floor in one of the bathrooms was covered in hair. Cleanliness is a different story. The service in the morning was efficient and attentive. However, the breakfast buffet wasn't what we expected for the price range. Compared to the other hotels on our tour, it was clearly on the lower end. The waitress was apparently uninformed about the packed lunches, but she packed us a sliced roll, butter, jam, cheese and sausage, a few strawberries, and an apple in a box. That was it.

We booked an overnight stay in May. When booking, we unfortunately overlooked the fact that there are rooms without a bathroom or toilet. But that was not the reason for the poor review. The room was dirty and in poor overall condition. The untrained staff in the hotel restaurant were friendly, but you had to wait a very long time (sometimes over an hour) before you got anything. Breakfast was a bad joke. The coffee machine from the early 90s had to be refilled or emptied after every three cups. Reheated rolls were available every 20 minutes (always only 6) and the eggs were the same. Overall, the price-performance ratio is not good at all.

We wanted to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday in a special atmosphere and were misled by the beautiful pictures and the candlelight dinner in the hotel restaurant. However, the pictures bear little resemblance to reality. We also didn't find the cozy atmosphere that was advertised everywhere. When we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, the reception was closed, and we were told to check in in the restaurant downstairs. There, we were greeted for the first time by a sticky floor and two friendly waitresses. The ladies were really nice, but quickly lost track of things, as they were simultaneously serving food and looking after the hotel guests. As a result, we had to wait over 45 minutes to check in. The hotel complex also doesn't live up to its online promises. The hotel is extremely run-down, and so are the rooms. Cleanliness is not taken seriously here. Clutter, dust, cobwebs, etc. can be found at every corner in the hotel and in the room. The dirty carpet from the 80s completes the picture. To salvage the birthday somehow, we decided to forego the planned candlelight dinner as a precaution and instead had a very good meal at a restaurant (luckily the kitchen wasn't closed yet!) in neighboring Miltenberg. The next day, we continued with the hotel. The breakfast buffet, while varied, was very poorly presented, almost sloppy. Even though it was quiet, the service was slow. Half the tables weren't cleared, the rest weren't set. To enjoy the terrace with its beautiful view of the Main River, we had to fetch the coffee cups, etc. ourselves. All in all, we believed the pretty pictures, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The pictures are staged and heavily embellished. They bear just as little resemblance to reality as the lovely hotel description. We absolutely cannot recommend the hotel!

Das ganze Hotel stinkt wie eine schlechte Pommes-Bude. Nach 5 Minuten einchecken im Schankraum sind die "Klamotten" ruiniert. Unsere Zimmer lagen ca. 5 Meter von der Fahrbahn / Brücke entfernt.

Hallo Zusammen, ich war vom Freitag bis Sonntag am letzten Wochenende mit meiner Frau im Hotel Goldenes Fass in Freudenstadt am Main. Wir hatten einen mydays Gutschein eingelöst upgedated auf das Delux Zimmer und das Erotik Package dazu gebucht. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und der Dank gilt an Daniel, der uns am ersten Abend noch auf der Terrasse nach Geschäftsschluss eine Decke, Teelichter und Chips hingestellt hat mit den Worten" ich mache es Euch kuschelig". Auch Lea am nächsten Abend hat uns super freundlich bedient. Anna unser Zimmer ganz toll dekoriert mit viel Liebe ..vielen, vielen Dank. Das Essen war auch super insbesondere das Fass-Schnitzel und der Fass Salat. Wir können das Hotel 100%ig weiter empfehlen Reinhard & Petra
