We arrived mid afternoon, our room was ready and Yannis helped us with our cases up and down several flights of stairs. We were given a welcome drink. Both Yannis & Lucy in reception, were very welcoming. Our room (E27) had a sea view which we had not specifically booked, a balcony with 2 chairs & table & airer with pegs. The room was spacious & included a wardrobe with mirrored doors, hanging space & drawers and a few hangers. There was a dressing table with drawers but no nearby socket & bedside tables with sockets & lights. My hairdryer wouldn’t reach the dressing table, so I had to dry my hair using the socket by the bathroom & mirror on wardrobe door. There was a tiny fridge with freezer box. A kettle, 2 small teacups, 2 glasses. & 4 teabags provided. We had to move the kettle to the floor to use, as there was only 1 socket for the fridge. The curtains aren’t blackout, so we were awake by 6 in the morning, lots of birds singing & Greek dogs greeting the morning! The bed was very hard, and I struggled to sleep all week, but my husband, didn’t have a problem with it, which shows how reviews can vary from person to person for the same things. We had a sheet, a bed cover & 4 pillows. Plus several blankets stored above the wardrobe. There was also a small single bed made up, but not used. The bathroom was very small, the toilet seat was wobbly. The shower cubicle was very small, with a wrap around shower curtain ( quite literally!) I struggled daily to wash my hair, shower & shave my legs! I also burnt myself several times on the hot tap. As the week went on I devised easier ways but usually soaking the floor in the process. Again my husband, didn’t seem to have the same issues as me, and seemed to manage quite adequately! There was plenty of hot water at all times but it took a while to run hot. The room was serviced daily, clean sheets a couple of times, and clean towels almost everyday. Sadly when we arrived the room was quite dusty, particularly under the bed & bedside tables, & on shelves & ledges. I think it was possibly the first time it had been used this season. We had several stairs to climb to our room which was on 2nd floor. Breakfast was good, with a fair selection each day, including fruit, ham, mini sausage, cheese, cereals, eggs, olives, tomatoes, preserves, fresh breads & butter, ( which later in the week turned to packet white bread & spread) chocolate pies, croissants, spinach pie & cake. Tea & coffee & fruit squash. Some things changed daily, but there was always a good selection. We had booked half board with EasyJet at a ridiculously low price, so wasn’t expecting anything special. So we can’t say we were really disappointed. If you had paid more, you may be dissatisfied. Almost everyday there was a selection of plain pasta, boiled potatoes, mash or chips, rice with peas & sweetcorn. A white fish & a meat/ chicken option. One night a

Lovley Hotel, but had very Dated rooms, The breakfast was fine, but the evening food basic and sometimes the same as the night before, quite a lot of stairs no ramps or lifts so not easy to get to get your suitcase up and down the stairs to your room. The rooms in the adverts do not represent the room we had been allocated, it was very basic, and needed updating, there were a kettle in the room, which was a bonus, the mosquito had half missing so, at night we had to close the window to prevent being bitten during the night. The room was cleaned daily, and all the staff were very pleasant, I would rate the hotel a 2* and not a 3* at present as it need to be updated. There are two beaches we found, one in just opposite the street food restaurant and the other sandy beach was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel down the hill, the beach has plenty of restaurants, gift shops and bars, if you just want a snack, we found Sofia's for a lovely traditional Greek small gyros, also not far from the hotel (about 2-5 minutes' walk) was Geoge's traditional Greek Tavernia, we were greeted by George and all the dishes we ordered was fab and at a great price, so that's worth visiting if you wanted to eat out Also, if you want to go into town, there is a bus stop down the hill towards the beach, the bus top is just outside the local convince store, its 3.50 euros each way, and the bus takes you the bus station, and the main town is about 10-15 minutes' walk away.

We are currently staying here and couldn’t have even imagine to be in a better place in Crete! The hotel is in a very peaceful and quiet location, but about 15 mins on foot from the centre of Agia Pelagia (maybe even less if you don’t get tempted by the many shops on the way). The rooms are spacious, modern, newly decorated, with comfy beds, gorgeous bathroom and a balcony with some really amazing views across the sea. 😊 We are on half-board and it is an excellent value for money - the food is served as a buffet and it’s just so, so Greek - lots of fresh veg, meat, fish and cheese 😊 The staff are worth mentioning, too - they couldn’t be more friendly, but humble at the same time and allowing the guest enjoy the privacy. It’s a smallish hotel, but everything here is absolutely perfect, looked after, we are having the most amazing time despite the weather not being too hot unfortunately.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel we booked again for next year. The hotel for us was exactly what we was looking for, nice location and views, Clean, tidy, comfortable room. The Breakfast and evening meals were better than expected, a small choice but good quality food and overall a very nice experience. We love the outdoor Pool and Bar with music playing in the background. Yannis, among his many tasks manages an excellent bar that has a good selection of drinks. One of the best things about this hotel was the friendly helpful staff who could not do enough for us, to name a few: Yannis, Stefanos, Lucy, Demitris and Giota, we thank you very much, we had a lot of fun and you made our holiday extra special. Words can not describe the team at this charming little hotel . From the moment we arrived too the day we had to leave , more the pity , we were looked after with a charm and friendliness that few hotels can match . The Team consisting of Yannis, Lucy Giota, Demitris and the hard working ladies who look after the rooms are led perfectly by Mr VIP Stefanos . The food was excellent for the price paid and there was always a good choice , it’s not Michelin but who wants that in Greece , just honest Greek and European dishes. Breakfast was a mixture of hot and continental dishes and again plentiful. We don’t single out staff normally , but after spending 20 years working in hotels and restaurants myself and knowing how tough it is too always be attentive, friendly, and honest with a welcoming smile and non stop can do attitude , Yanni the ever present deserves that applause . 👏. There was never anything that was too much trouble for him to do for us or any of the guests , from morning until last thing at night . This hotel is a little gem and yes it’s not super modern , more traditional which lies its beauty and warmth and all the staff are part of its magic as are the views . We met some lovely people from different countries and made a few new friends as well . We look forward to returning in 24 and until then thank you and Yamas 🍺 Nick and Anthea x

We came for a 2 week relaxing stay and that's what we got. The staff are amazing as were the views. There was always something to eat and Giannis made sure you had a good drink too! The rooms although a little dated were spotless and fresh towels and sheets every other day. The hotel is in beautiful surroundings and there was even a pine marten who visited late at night! We would love to go again and thank Stefanos, Lucy, Gannis, Giota and Demitris so much for a fabulous stay.

All staff working there are lovely and made me feel very welcome as a solo traveller right from the beginning. All areas are lovely and clean, with a tasty buffet-style of food (breakfast and dinner) and overall, the hotel is very relaxing and worth staying at. Any excursions can be booked directly through the hotel, they have a brochure with many activities you can choose from and they will help you book them. A bus to Heraklion runs regularly, it's cheap and only takes about half an hour to get there. Thanks Pelagia Bay for a lovely stay! :- )

From start to finish our vacation has been a wonderful and pleasant experience. We stayed in a hotel where we’ve seen picturesque sunsets and sunrises that are absolutely stunning in every sense of the word, as far as the eye can see. Tranquil, inviting and accommodating. The staff made us feel welcoming as if we knew them from strangers to very good friends, especially Yiannis, who is the hotel barman and snooker opponent. Giota, who works in the kitchen, warmly greets us every morning with a ‘kalimera’ and Lucy, who as a receptionist is never without a smile. In terms of food and beverage quality, my mom, dad and I always loved our nights together as a family drinking freezing cold mythos beers and eating lots of nutritious Greek food every day and night for two weeks. Especially with an assortment of all different types of food e.g anchovies, chicken, pork, Greek salad, olives and tzatzikis that are tastily cooked and appealing to our tastebuds. The food was delicious and it’s fair to say i’ve never stopped eating like i’ve had a lion’s appetite ranging from breakfast every morning to our evening meal. Pelagia Bay has a really chilled out vibe that includes a tranquil setting. Our hotel room has a glorious sea view at the balcony where we can relax and enjoy the sights from our own very eyes. However, to add some honest feedback, the library should’ve included more books that offers a variety different genres e.g. classics, romance, comedy, horror, detective stories, suspense thrillers etc. just to name a few. It maximises other guests’ choices on what to read in the duration of their stay, including myself. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who hasn’t been to Pelagia Bay and is yet to visit Agia Pelagia in the sunny island of Crete. It’s a wonderful accommodation where we have been treated like kings and queens amongst other guests. I couldn’t have been anymore grateful for the warm reception that you have given me, my mom and dad when we arrived back in our hotel room every night after a long, relaxing day at the beach. We would be very lucky to get a place accommodating as much as next year.
