Neptuno Beach Hotel

Travelled as a group of 7 - 6 adults and 9 month old baby in May 2023. Unfortunately our experience wasn't good. When we arrived the travel cot wasn't in our room, I went to reception who said we may need to wait until the morning to get a cot, which is ridiculous. I even asked 'where is my baby going to sleep?' and the receptionist said nothing. Luckily, the cot had been put in one of the other rooms in our party so we swapped, but surely the receptionist should know which room to allocate us? One thing to bare in mind is that one side of the main hotel block has been renovated, so one side resembles the lovely modern rooms as shown in the pictures. The other side is dated, brown wooden headboards and wardrobes so very different to the pictures we saw online. One positive thing to note is that the rooms are very clean. The food is very much the same each day and night and not much choice. There are only about 5-6 highchairs so if you go at peak time your baby may not have anywhere to sit. All of us became ill with sickness and diarrhoea whilst staying here. A child unfortunately pooed in the pool, the staff were told about this however the pool wasn't cleaned or a barrier put around it for over an hour. I wouldn't recommend this hotel based on our experience.

We spent 2 weeks here at the end of July as a family and what a fab hotel it was! The staff work so hard to make sure everything is perfect for the guests. Our room was spacious and really clean (plus cleaned every day!). Huge variety of food - if you have kids don’t worry, there is always pasta and chips on the menu! Unlimited ice cream obviously a massive hit with a 9 year old. Drinks were great and bar staff were fab. It seemed none of the staff ever stood still! Entertainment was great - Andreas certainly works hard!! You can join in if you want but it’s just as fun to sit back and watch. The kids disco was a huge hit too and the evening entertainment was just that - entertaining! Although there are buses from the top of the road, we got a taxi into Heraklion to visit the Natural History Museum (small but worth a visit if you’ve got a child that loves that sort of thing) plus the fort. The taxi was around €14 and worth it to get there quickly and in the air conditioning. We also did a trip to the Crete Aquarium (taxi was around €38 each way). This is also a small attraction but has a fab array of sealife. We enjoyed lovely cocktails and ‘snacks’ (which were full on meals in our book!) at Wild Rose at the top of the road. Worth a visit if you fancy a change of scenery, can’t recommend the cocktails enough. We also had a couple of delicious meals at Blanco just over from the hotel. It’s slightly more upmarket in terms of price but you won’t go hungry and again, the cocktails were fab. If you get the chance and it’s your sort of thing then we’d recommend a trip to WaterCity water park. Book online and make sure you include the transfers! Makes life so much easier. There’s something for everyone there but you definitely need a whole day as queuing time was quite long for some rides. The reception staff at the hotel were more than happy to help and ordered taxis as and when needed. Basically - make sure you come to this hotel! If you don’t want to be disturbed in the evenings by the entertainment then ask for a quiet room - lots of rooms look over the pool/bar area which does get loud when everyone gets going! Hotel is fab, staff are phenomenal and there’s loads to do on the area. Thank you to all at Neptuno for giving us a fabulous holiday!

Me and my family were in this hotel this summer on vacation. Locality was excellent! Amoudara is beautiful beach with amazing sea and wind very near capital Heraklion. Hotel is cozy, staff was nice and helpful. Non-alcoholic drinks was great! We loved self-service for coffee and ice-cream. Food was good, but for a snack, there could be less fried food and more fruit or vegetables. For kids super mini club and the best was Andreas and animation program with him. Very funny and kind person! Greetings from Czech Republic. :))

We chose this place for our honeymoon and it was absolutely brilliant! I would highlight delicious food and drinks, clean beach with nice views, funny evening agendas (dancing, karaoke etc.) and very friendly hotel staff.

Were do i even start! We had the most amazing holiday at Neptuno! Location is perfect if you are after a truly relaxing beach holiday, sit by the pool all day or grab a spot on the beautiful beach! From the moment we got there we were treated like family. The staff worked so hard to make sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much for them, special shout out to Anna, you are amazing and we love you and the Raki! The food was delicious and plentiful and Dimitri always found us the perfect spot to eat! Andreas and Mini made up the animation team and worked hard all day making us laugh, keeping us fully entertained ... getting the hubby up to dance is not an easy task but they did it .. more than once! Andreas went out of his way to accomodate us and we can't thank him enough 🙏. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know you both and you always have a place to come when (not if) you visit Liverpool ❤️ Our room was kept spotless by the always friendly and cheerful cleaning staff and the view from our balcony was beautiful, we watched the sun set behind the hills every evening, it was perfect. There probably alot more wonderful things I could say but I've only been back 2 days and I'm still processing! Thank you all for giving us the most amazing time! We will be back!!!

Well what a fantastic holiday that was, we only came back yesterday!!!! Hotel is right on the beach and the surrounding area is picturesque greek. A really relaxing experience was made perfect by the talent and dedication of the staff (which is the most impressive thing about the Neptuno) who could not possibly be more warm or hospitable!!! A big Thank you goes to Andreas (what a laugh we had with you!!! You really went above and beyond to give us the best time possible!!!) Andreas heads up the tireless entertainment team along with the awesome dominique keeping every guest (from young to old) dancing and laughing day and night!! The food is spot on and caters for everyone to a high standard and drinks are always served with a smile, particularly so by the super warm Anna! (Thanks so much for the Raki Anna!! See you next year!!) The rooms are kept spotless and there are no complaints whatsoever. I Really think the people "make the place" and the Neptuno is the perfect example of this and why we will be back again next year. Thanks so so much guys!!!.... we made memories here that will not be forgotten!!! Oh and if you like your coffee .......go across the road to Dorian cafe....yannis makes the best coffee on the island no joke, it's seriously good!!!!. Neil.

Nice hotel, helping staff, amazing whether for entire visit 😋. Lots to see around, lack of enjoying visitors. Amazing people around and nice atmosphere. Recommended for frents,families or single visits.🙄👀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🫣😜 Pool, see by the door steps.

Such a welcome! The people running this hotel are very friendly. I visited end of October with my 10y daughter. She could play in the kids club twice a day (except Wednesday) and has a little kids disco in the evening. There isn’t much to do in the resort so this is a ‘quiet, relaxing holiday’ the beach area behind the hotel was lovely. If you want any ‘life’ Heraklion is 15min cab away for €14 with lots of shops and restaurants. I loved this holiday.

Amazing hotel, this was our third time at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and take care of your every need. The room was perfect with a beautiful sea view. Robes and slippers was an added bonus, not to mention the lovely fruit basket, delicious cakes and bottle of wine when we entered our room. The ambience of the hotel is home from home, so comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant served the most delicious desserts and continental pastries all too hard to resist. The variety of traditional Greek and international cuisine for lunch and dinner was superb. There was a full programme of activities during the daytime and a variety of entertainment in the evening which was so good that we did not leave the hotel once during our stay. This hotel is a gem in Ammadoura and I would highly recommend a vacation there. I can't rate it highly enough.
