Our third visit and again a wonderful two night stay. Staff very welcoming at reception and Paul took our bags up for us. Had the same room again , Room 1 , and love it . Certainly has a “WOW” factor as the large windows have a perfect view of the outstanding Lake Vyrnwy. The room was clean, comfortable and housekeeping kept it beautifully. Breakfast and dinner were excellent and food was lovely and well presented. The weather was beautiful so we spent a day outside looking at the stunning view across the lake , reading, drinking coffee and G&T - generally relaxing . The staff were all friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel is a little jaded and probably does need some attention but does not detract from the overall experience and adds to its allure. Will be looking at diary to see when we can go back . Thank you everyone.

We stay here at every opportunity we can. My Happy Place. Staff, food and rooms are perfect. Always smiling and have a chat. The view is fabulous and the breakfasts are amazing. The View is just outstanding. We've been coming here now for a few years at any opportunity. We love it so much . We definitely recommend. Lake views from the room are gorgeous ... Just sit out on a clear night and look up :-)

Unbelievable scenery! Hotel is gorgeous, yes a little outdated but really brings character to it. We stayed in a garden view and the room was massive, massive bed & private balcony. Super quiet rooms where we didn’t hear a peep from anyone else. We had both breakfast & dinner, waiters/waitresses were polite, quick and brilliant at their jobs. Only downside was that Food did take 1.5hours to come to the table after ordering. Did have a word with front desk who just stated they were busy even though we were surrounded by empty tables. Food was excellent both at dinner and breakfast!! So good. Spent some time in the thermal suite and it was also really good. Paid £15 each for entry and just chilled on a quiet Sunday morning whilst everyone else was in bed! Will happily stay again, but next time book for 2 nights in a lake view!

Lovely Spa package experience! Warm greeting arriving at the Spa reception & had a tour of the facilities. The Spa although small was perfectly formed & had great facilities which were all working (which was great to see as often at least one thing is out of order whenever I use a spa do this was a real bonus!) The view from the spa suite is nothing short of breathtaking across the lake! We enjoyed a 2hr spa journey there including jacuzzi, steam room, sauna & terrarium with heated beds. The spa massages were really good and much appreciated by myself & my husband. Much thanks to both therapists as we both enjoyed the treatments. The afternoon experience got even better ending with a wonderful afternoon tea in the main restaurant with a window seat again to admire that view. The Staff in general were extremely attentive & knowledgeable on the various teas available and had noted down my food allergy which was great to see. The food was tasty and varied and when we couldn’t eat the beautiful cake selection we were kindly given a box to take them home The only minor constructive criticism I have it that there were some minor refurbishment needs which wouldn’t be costly but would make the experience 5 stars…. The steps up to the jacuzzi looked like they needed a really good scrub as they were looking a bit shabby and in the women’s changing room the kickboard at the bottom of the sinks were all chipped and worn; they simply needed replacing which would enhance the changing area. It was these sort of things which smacked of the lack of care which you would expect in a 4 star hotel.

We stayed for one night and can't fault it all... Excellent value for money, staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the clay pigeon shooting despite an error with the app - John was a great instructor! We had private use of the spa facilities which they discounted as we were unable to use the whole of our alloted time! Breakfast was delicious and so were the tapas we enjoyed in our room. Will definitely be staying again!

We enjoyed the most relaxing stay at Lake Vyrnwy to celebrate my partners birthday. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have done more. The property is a historic gem, and we were lucky to be upgraded to The Suite, with a beautiful lake view, four-posted bed, and spacious living area, which was well appointed and furnished, and very clean and tidy. We were lucky to get a last minute reservation in The Tower Restaurant which was without a doubt one of the best meals we had tasted. Moving into the Drawing Room for drinks and games topped off the evening. Breakfast didn't disappoint either, with very generous portions, and a great selection. We didn't get to try out the spa but would love to next time, and would happily recommend Lake Vyrnwy to anyone - it really was idyllic! A perfect stay!

Comfortable country house hotel experience. The hotel oozes charm and style in the most beautiful area. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but be clear this is no chain hotel in bland corporate style but full of class and style. We had a superior lake view room which was large, clean and very comfortable, and with quality teas, ground coffee etc. The balcony views were unforgettable. The dinner was excellent. We are vegetarian which does limit the choices but both starter (beetroot) and main (cauliflower steak) were first class, and the restaurant service was attentive and prompt. Will most definitely return
