Premier Inn Manchester City (Portland St)

The room was clean but the only complaint was the window was locked and we couldn’t open it ourselves when we wanted you had to go down to reception and get them to come and open it with their key for the window

Good location, clean room, good customer service would stay again

Bad: - someone elses hairs in bed when i got into it 1st night - wifi signal was very poor. Ended up hotspotting off my mobile - long wait to check in as kiosks werent working. Good: -excellent customer service from Paulo and the team. Went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. - excellent breakfast - vegan options always much appreciated - great location

Needs a refurbishment the rooms and hallways. Just stayed one night for a concert nearby. 5 mins walk from the train station. The window of our room wouldn't close, room 309 as no lock on it. Not a great night sleep from the traffic/ people noise . Breakfast OK and staff friendly.

Decent rooms at a good price and really great service in the restaurant. Thank you to chef Jerzy for preparing poached eggs for me! The hotel was also very clean and staff were all very pleasant and welcoming.

Stay was very nice. My fiancée had laser eye surgery and we had to stay an extra two nights due to some discomfort. The restaurant team Jerry / Bianca and Paulo all looked after us after and the reception team were most helpful. A good full breakfast can always cheer up up with a few tubs of Nutella

This is by far the worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. The whole hotel and my room stank of damp. The window in my room was completely soaked in condensation and there was black mould on the curtains. There was also mould in the bathroom. The hotel and my room were filthy, I felt dirtier after getting out the shower than I did before getting in. There was grime on the surfaces, hairs on the bed on arrival and the carpet was sticky and covered in stains. The room was also very hot, it was 23 degrees in the evening with no air con and a broken desk fan that smelt like burning, though it wouldn’t have made a difference even if it did work. I would never return to this hotel and hope for future guest’s sakes that they address the damp problem which is a health hazard and is completely unacceptable.
