Aphrodite Sands Resort

From booking this hotel and throughout our 2.5 week stay I have nothing but praise for this hotel and the service we received. On booking, I'd requested a pool facing ground floor room due to having an autistic child with noise sensitivity and a young one who likes to climb. This was granted, no issue. On arriving at a really unsociable hour, we were met by Peter who showed us around. Everything was explained very well, and we even got suggestions of sights to see sent to the phone the same night. Throughout our stay, him and the lady at reception (sorry, didn't catch her name) could not have done more for us. They truly went over and above to make us feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The two bed apartment was great, living room, kitchen area (washing machine a big plus with family), two big bedrooms, ensuite and main bathroom with full bath. Loads of storage and the best aircon system we have had anywhere. Cleaners seemed to come every other weekday, they weren't intrusive, were polite and were happy to just drop off towels and loo paper if someone was asleep. Grounds and pool were gorgeous, beautifully kept, clean and welcoming. Cushioned loungers, enough for everyone, nobody reserved with towels and then didn't use them all day (pet hate!), and the atmosphere round the pool was fun but quiet. We are very fair skinned and always got a lounger in the shade with parasol. WiFi signal was quite good, enough speed for streaming usually, only needing a boost from mobile 5G occasionally. Boys could play PS5 which kept them happy during the hottest hours. The hotel is in Mandria village and it is totally possible to visit the pool, village shop, supermarket and restaurants by foot, but we hired a car and were glad we did as there was so much to see and do in the area. First time to Cyprus, and it was simply stunning. We would definitely return to this hotel and have had no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family across Ireland. My husband and I have been holidaying here for the last few years and I feel quite guilty I’ve never thought of writing a review. The resort is just five minutes stroll from the village of Mandria which boasts five restaurants, a hairdresser/beauty salon, bijou clothes boutique, village store and medical centre; the nearest pharmacy is in Timi, just five minutes away). The Aphrodite Sands is the type of complex you could visit alone and feel totally safe. The apartments are cleaned regularly during your stay and are spacious and modern. The office is manned efficiently by Angelica who is always happy to help and Peter Constantinou who runs the whole complex. Peter is the life & soul of the party and it wouldn’t be the same without him. The landscaping, gardens and swimming pools are excellently maintained by Christos and his team. The airport is just 10 minutes away & the centre of Paphos 20 minutes away. The testament to a great place is the number of returning visitors year after year. We have made so many good friends there and hope to do so for many years to come. The brochure photo doesn’t do the resort justice.

Excellent apartments in a great location a few mins walk to the village with great restraunts Very clean large open living space with excellent showers and loads of hot water. Value you for money we had a 3 bed 3 bathroom apartment loads of room, easy to follow instructions to get in, we arrived late at night and had no problem at all. Would defently book again .

Absolutely loved it here. Was very clean. Pool area was great and there were always free beds. Apartment was lovely & clean. Peter who works there was just amazing! Goes out of his way to help you. Gave us information on places to go and helped with us renting a car. Could contact him if needed. Was so friendly. Local mini market and places to eat and drink about 5/10 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again.

A lovely quiet and pretty location, despite being only 10 mins from the airport. It should cost about €30/35 euros to get from the airport to the apartments in a taxi. Spacious and comfortable apartments, basic style but very clean. Washing machine in apartment and excellent air conditioning. Huge private terrace over looking the pool which is lovely. The terraces have a table and chairs and ours also had 2 loungers and an airer for drying washing which everybody seems to use. People don’t drape towels over the balcony’s, so it’s a pretty place to sit! The outside pool area is lovely. The apartments are very attractive. Nice padded sun loungers, there are a few which are not quite so nice but mostly good and there are plenty. Cleaners prepare the area every morning, gardens kept nicely. It’s a quiet resort, no music, very relaxed and very nice guests when we were there. 5 minute walk to 5 restaurants in Mandria, our favourite was The Tavern, excellent Thai food. Also little supermarket which has everything you need. Walk to Mandria beach 20 minutes, beautiful sunsets and rustic very friendly bar. Nice loungers, parasols and new clean facilities. Taxi to Paphos is €30/35 euros. Now the best bit…..Peter and Angela, the resort hosts. You couldn’t meet a lovelier Cypriot couple. They are the most welcoming and genuinely good people. They greeted us by name when we arrived and welcomed us like family. They are the cherry on the top of Aphrodite Sands. Also Christos, who looks after the pool and maintenance, a genuinely lovely man. Having been into Paphos to visit friends at their hotel, I was very pleased to get back to Aphrodite sands, it was not comparable! Peaceful and calm. I would certainly go back.
