Very nice, family run hotel in Sierra da Estrela. Nice and cosy feeling of a mountain hotel very well maintained and functional. Room not huge but confortable and with all amenities. Private parking available and a plus the very clean and well organized swimming pool. Rich and varied breakfast with lots of local products. Very good and authentic restaurant as well. Kind service and reasonable price.

Traditional mountain hotel with very well maintained rooms and new bathrooms. Great view to Manteigas if you stay in a village facing bedroom. Welcoming staff; little family hotel with a restaurant you must try. The breakfast with a view was a great way to start the day.

My wife and I spent seven days at Hotel Berne in Manteigas, Portugal. We felt welcomed since our arrival. Rafael and the staff went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The food was fantastic, and the village was simply beautiful and cozy. We tasted the local restaurants and coffee shops. It is worth the trip. The rooms were clean; the hotel was well-maintained and quiet. I recommend Hotel Berne for your next trip to Portugal.

A lovely, friendly hotel with good food
A lovely, friendly hotel. Our room, on the first floor, was recently refurbished and the hotel was about to close for three weeks to complete the upper floor. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was excellent, as was the locally sourced wine. Breakfast each day was buffet service with a good selection of foods.
A lovely place to stay with an outdoor pool for relaxing after a long hot walk. There is a small supermarket very nearby which is great for picking up provisions for lunch on the move.

This restaurant and hotel are a lovely treat for a mountain getaway. Sparkling clean rooms and common areas with helpful staff and great food ensure a pleasant stay. Brothers, Rafael and Marcos, do double duty at the desk and in the restaurant. André is a skilled and personable waiter who is a valuable addition to the mix. Breakfast is included with the room and it is really good. Our group of 4 had lunch and two dinners also and each choice was well prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. A perfect location for a hiking vacation.

We stayed two nights in Manteigas at the Hotel Berne while we hiked in the Serra da Estrela. The hotel was cute, the restaurant was delicious, and the room was very nice. The staff made us feel very welcome and were so helpful. Great views from patio outside of oh room!
