I have stayed at this lovely hotel on four previous occasions and enjoy it each time. The reception staff are quick to get you checked in and are extremely friendly. Since my wife had boked the room for me, I didn't know which style or which part of the hotel I would be in. On previous visits, we three different classifications of room. This time I was on the second floor of Block 3. Trying to match the room style with the Internet descriptions, I'm guessing it might have been a Deluxe King or Comfort King. Suffice to say, it was a decent size, had an armchair and a settee, walk-in shower and a lovely balcony over looking the weir at the back of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. I wouldn't normally get excited about a balcony but it was a hot evening and sitting outside (in the shade) listening the water going over the weir and a gentle cooling breeze blowing - well you get the idea - good book and a cup of coffee, job done. I haven't eaten in the restaurant for a while and the menu had obviously changed since I last visited it. I had the Vitello Tonnato for starters and the Saltimbocca for my main course. When the Vitello Tonnato was served, I was surprised to see that in addition to the traditional veal and tuna sauce, it also had chunks of tuna in it. Not complaining especially as they were only charging Euro 11.50. The only downside was that I was nearly full by the time my main course arrived. I'll know for the future! I wanted to try sardinien wine, Vermentino Aragosta but unfortunately, it was not available so settled for a Pinot Grigio instead - a very nice wine and sensibly priced at Euro 8.50 for 2cl. I didn't pay for breakfast as UI just wanted to grab a roll/sandwich on the way to the station but looking at the groups of guests sitting outside in the sun clearly enjoying their breakfast, I was a little envious. So to sum up, paying a bit extra for a room with a balcony was certainly worth at this time of year - must have spent the best part of four hours sitting outside. Will definitely look forward to a return visit later this year.
