Nice hotel in a quiet area surrounded by the river. Very beautiful suite and equipment. The hotel being quite extended is a bit cold / lack a welcoming presence. Restaurant Oliva has very good food and smiling personnel. Only surprising point: first time ever being asked 25€ as "early bird" to access the room at 11:45 am (room was already free)

WIR HABEN UNS MIT DER GANZEN FAMILIE SEHR WOHLGEFÜHLT UND ENTSPANNTE WEIHNACHTSTAGE VERBRACHT. DAS PERSONAL WAR DURCHGEHEND UNGLAUBLICH AUFMERKSAM UND FREUNDLICH. GROSSE, GUT AUSGESTATTETE ZIMMER, SEHR RUHIG. DIE ALTSTADT IST FUSSLÄUFIG ERREICHBAR. BEQUEMES PARKEN IN DER TIEFGARAGE. BEIM FRÜHSTÜCK WAR, INSBESONDERE BEI EINER GRÖSSEREN GRUPPE, EINE VORHERIGE TISCHRESERVIERUNG ERFORDERLICH. BESONDERS HERVORZUHEBEN IST DER SCHÖNE, GROSSE WELLNESSBEREICH. WIR KOMMEN AUF JEDEN FALL WIEDER!

I stayed at the hotel in January 2024 with colleagues. The main restaurant was closed, and the second restaurant has a very limited menu. After 3 evenings with no changes to the menu, we had exhausted nearly every choice on the menu. Also the restaurant service was poor. We had to wait longer for service than was reasonable, especially when we could see other cutomers getting served faster than us. Clearly some customers are more favoured than others. The final straw came at check-out. I had to leave Marburg earlier than originally planned, cancelling one night. The hotel stiffed me for the cost of the one cancelled night. I did tell them that I expect to visit Marburg several times through 2024, and that they were creating an unhappy customer. It didn't matter, they still insisted on it. I will avoid this hotel as much as possible on future visits to Marburg, and I advise all other travellers to do the same.

Restaurant and reception Personnel unqualified. We were disappointed because the Rooms are very nice and most People are friendly. To expensive for the bad Service specially at the Restaurant. We expected more from such a nice Hotel. The Restaurant Olivia in the Hotel is overpriced the food not really good and the Service low level. Now Service when the Wein Glas is empty. We ordered a second Bottle of Red Wine but did not get a taste first. The new Bottle was filled in to the existing Wein Glas. Ask for a tooth pick which took very long then I got one in very bad condition.

What a lovely hotel . Spent 3 nights here as on the area on business . The facilities are second to none , the rooms are equiped with everything you want or need with excellent wifi . Breakfast is on another level with more choice of very high quality hot and cold food , the resteraunts are really high class and serve up some very special dishes . Booking in advance is essential . The staff are all very profesional and go out of their way ro make sure your stay is perfect . One member of staff named Marco stood out in particular ( as he served us in the resteraunt and bar on a xouple of nights ) he really puts in a lot of effort to make sure our food and drink experiance was top notch but i am sure all the staff are of the same caliber . Parking isnt an issue as there is a underground carpark beneth the hotel . For sure will stay here again when back in yhe area which i will be soon . Really can not fault anything but a few english channels on the TV would be nice .

Located close to a beautiful town This hotels is classic with a modern twist! We stayed in one of their suites which was big and beautiful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent. You can rent bicycles from the hotel to move around. If you visit the town with a bicycle you can park it at the bottom of the town and use the elevator to get up , as its uphill and its difficult to get there with the bike.

I had such a relaxing stay in such a beautiful hotel, could not recommend it more highly. I could not fault the helpfulness of the staff, the decor creating a lovely atmosphere and the food. The hotel in general is of a very high standard. It was my third stay over a number of years and the quality has not changed in that time

This is a very special hotel. I wished I could have stayed here more than one night! The room was large and comfortable, with a balcony and a view of the river. There was a pillow menu, and I was able to get a supportive neck roll, which was very welcome. The spa facilities looked excellent, unfortunately due to the short stay I was unable to enjoy them. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The upstairs bar was a delightful area, with expert bartender and a small choice of food available instead of the larger choice in the restaurant. I would love to return to this hotel, and stay longer. I definitely recommend it!

I have stayed at this lovely hotel on four previous occasions and enjoy it each time. The reception staff are quick to get you checked in and are extremely friendly. Since my wife had boked the room for me, I didn't know which style or which part of the hotel I would be in. On previous visits, we three different classifications of room. This time I was on the second floor of Block 3. Trying to match the room style with the Internet descriptions, I'm guessing it might have been a Deluxe King or Comfort King. Suffice to say, it was a decent size, had an armchair and a settee, walk-in shower and a lovely balcony over looking the weir at the back of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. I wouldn't normally get excited about a balcony but it was a hot evening and sitting outside (in the shade) listening the water going over the weir and a gentle cooling breeze blowing - well you get the idea - good book and a cup of coffee, job done. I haven't eaten in the restaurant for a while and the menu had obviously changed since I last visited it. I had the Vitello Tonnato for starters and the Saltimbocca for my main course. When the Vitello Tonnato was served, I was surprised to see that in addition to the traditional veal and tuna sauce, it also had chunks of tuna in it. Not complaining especially as they were only charging Euro 11.50. The only downside was that I was nearly full by the time my main course arrived. I'll know for the future! I wanted to try sardinien wine, Vermentino Aragosta but unfortunately, it was not available so settled for a Pinot Grigio instead - a very nice wine and sensibly priced at Euro 8.50 for 2cl. I didn't pay for breakfast as UI just wanted to grab a roll/sandwich on the way to the station but looking at the groups of guests sitting outside in the sun clearly enjoying their breakfast, I was a little envious. So to sum up, paying a bit extra for a room with a balcony was certainly worth at this time of year - must have spent the best part of four hours sitting outside. Will definitely look forward to a return visit later this year.
