Margaret River Holiday Cottages

We had the most wonderful family holidays at Margaret River holiday cottages! Jules and Andrew are lovely hosts, and their place is a little paradise for the kids and the grownups. We spent a week there over Christmas and that was the highlight of our Australian trip! Kids had an amazing experience feeding the animals every morning before doing a truck tour and enjoying the beautiful playground and pool. Location is great, just near the farmer market and nice grocery shops. We found our cottage homey and very well equipped. We stayed there almost every evening for BBQ! Honestly, the entire stay was a dream! We already miss our alpaga and kangaroo friends and can’t wait to go back again!

My interstate friends have now experienced this wonderful place. I love coming here and won't stay anywhere else when visiting Margaret River. Thank you Andrew and family, your care for guests and your animals is second to none.

Andrew your hospitality was outstanding. I can’t wait to return and will be telling everyone. We loved your knowledge, care and compassion for the animals you rescue. This stay was with friends-one of whom has stayed on multiple occasions-I can see why.

Right from the get go there were so many places for me to play at and the house was really quaint and lovely. Also getting to interact and help out with the animals min my free time or in the morning was just amazing, Sadie the Donnie and Brutus the baby goat were great. The fire pit was also really nice and I got to meet a lot of different from a lot of places. The owners and their kids were really nice and also really friendly.

I took a few weeks to write this post but I told myself I must review =) My family and I stayed in the Gumnut Cottage in June for 2 nights. Right from booking to arrival at the Holiday Cottages, Andrew assisted and gave us excellent help and advices! Thanks for informing us to gear up as the woods was really cold. The cottage was clean and big enough to fit family of 9 (6 adults and 3 kids). We enjoyed the animal feeding at 8am too! The activities room were good with a heated pool and some games (even my 60 years old dad had a great pool time). The location is very close to the town where we can find food easily (better to make a reservation if tou are going on weekends). We hope to be back soon. The stay left us a deep impression and we enjoyed ourselves alot! Thank you Andrew!

We had a wonderful stay at Margaret River Holiday Cottages. The kids (late primary school aged) loved the animals, especially the animal feeding each morning. We had some fun in the indoor heated pool despite the cold (and wet) wintery days. The social campfires were also a hit. It was a relaxing, homely place to stay.

My family had very high expectations for our vacation in Margaret River, and our stay the the Margaret River Holiday Cottages did not disappoint. The farmstay is the perfect blend of low-key and special experiences. The cottages are lovely, clean, and well appointed. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to make our own lovely meals and also had easy access to the town and surrounding vineyards. There were thoughtful touches like adapters, children's books, extra blankets, and beautiful artwork from the area as well as access to board games and DVDs for the chilly evenings. Our children (7 and 4 years old) were able to help feed the animals in the mornings, providing a fun activity and some routine for families on a holiday. Bottle feeding the young kangaroos and lambs was also a highlight. The staff were friendly and professional and were eager to help make our stay great. We travel a lot, all over Asia/Australasia/Europe, and we love a good adventure - we would be hard pressed to name a past holiday as wonderful and all-round fulfilling as the one we spent here at Margaret River Holiday Cottages. Jules and Andrew are an amazing couple that have created an animal wonderland for families with kids - the cottages are comfortable and have everything you need, but the farm interaction and hands-on experience with the animals they foster is like nothing else we've ever experienced. Our daughters spent a large part of every day getting involved in feeding, playing and cuddling the animals, assisting with putting the baby roos to bed and looking for fresh eggs in the barnyard - who would have thought a 14 year old grotty teen would be quite so smitten by a farmstay??? The accommodation is also in a great location for the surrounding area - lots of great beaches and tempting vineyards within less than an hour's drive, and Margaret River town just 5 mins drive up the road. We left after two weeks fully rested (albeit a tad hungover) in body, mind and soul and we would go back in a heartbeat - and if you do book, don't forget to add in a photo shoot with Jules, amazing photographer with some stunning locations to choose from for the perfect family pics!

Such an amazing place esp for families with kids. we were a family with grandma and a 5-year-old in a 2 bedroom timber cottage. we stayed a week and yet didn't have enough time to check out all that mrhc has to offer. Andrew, jules and Lisa really go out of their way to make your stay comfortable - I had numerous questions to figure out sleeping arrangements for a 5-year-old who could roll off the bed; next thing I know they've got bed rails! in the roo house, they've got a few items for those missing home like milo and ah huat coffee, even instant noodles. their travel tips were also spot on and helped us make the most of our stay. my 5-year-old was busy saying bye to all the animals on the last day - it's been a magical stay, thank you!
