Everything else was good, the waiter's attitude was also very good and professional, but there was a consumer trap. They said they would provide a welcome drink and asked me what kind of wine I wanted. I ordered a random drink and ended up charging 26 euros. You should know that the hotel is located in a small town in southern Italy, where prices are very low. We had dinner for 2 people with 2 glasses of wine at a local restaurant for only 21 euros.

Great authentic hotel. They don't want to be a hotel, they want to be an "experience" but you can stay as if you were at a hotel.... Not a traditional hotel, but still a hotel. Rooms are a bit eccentric and unique, especially some of the bathrooms, but we loved our experience. Fantastic old palazzo, with high ceilings, murals, unique rooms, courtyards and a fantastic garden, outside pool and bar. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The surrounding village is a remote Italian village, not that much to see, but a few charming restaurants, and it's fun hanging out on the piazza in front of the palazzo after dinner. Breakfast is a la carte in the garden and dinner can be arranged flexibly as well. would highly recommend if you're interested in exploring the southern tip of Puglia and Salento.

Lovely property with a friendly staff! The kitchen accommodated our every want and need.Quiet, beautiful! The little town was charming. Our family of four loved every minute! We did the cooking class and had the best time!!The kitchen staff was delightful!

Lovely lodging in an authentic little town off the beaten path. The building is beautiful and well-maintained. The pool is wonderful. Our bed was comfortable and our room was clean and quiet. My wife and I ate breakfast and dinner at the inn. Delicious. We sat and drank wine in the kitchen and chatted with the chef while our dinner was being prepared. The staff was kind and attentive. Palazzo Daniele is certainly not a chain hotel, but for those looking for a unique, well-run lodging in southern Italy, I highly recommend it.

I am amazed by these rave reviews. Palazzo Daniele is a once-beautiful historic building that has been allowed to deteriorate, has been the subject of only cursory restoration, and is still in dire need of basic maintenance and repair. It’s beyond me why your reviewers seem to think that crumbling plasterwork, flaking paint, rusting ironwork and meals served in chipped crockery, not to mention guest accommodation and appointments that make Premier Inns look like five star luxury, deserve such acclaim. And all charged for at eye wateringly expensive rates. Phrases used by your reviewers such as "a truly unique concept of style, beauty and historical values" and "a truly marvellous experience" make me wonder if they were at the same place that I was. And as for the smug and pretentious claim of one of your reviewers that those guests who may share my opinions "don't get the concept", I'd suggest that that is classic case of the Emperor’s New Clothes - that particular person seems to be oblivious to the place's blindingly obvious shortcomings. Its only saving grace is its staff - without exception lovely people, mostly young, attentive, intelligent and helpful. All a delight to deal with. One can only hope that they don’t realise that they are participants in a charade - the pretence being that this shabby pile is somehow a top quality boutique hotel.
