Al Maaden Villa Hotel & Spa

Ruined family trip on last day as 2 towels were apparently missing reception forced my teenage children to open luggage for 2 towels that they were accused of stealing . They were obviously not in out luggage there was no apology . I had left a day earlier due to work schedule my children and husband stayed on. As a uk based doctor I have no need for towels from Al Maaden they are not exactly the White Co quality . This was our third visit to Al Maaden ( 2014 & 2018 ) everything has deteriorated. Villa dirty , tired furniture , battered TVs /Wi-Fi fridges don’t work . Overall a big NO from us 5 adverts 2star standards will never return plz if from UK don’t book it’s not worth it

A wonderful family friendly alternative to a hotel. With these villas you get lots of space. We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. We visited in January and unfortunately the private pool is not heated and therefore way too cold to swim, though I can see how amazing this would be in the summer. Great location in a quiet, secured area about 10-15 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. The villa does need some TLC; some sliding doors did not close very well, lobby is a bit run down, strange smells come from the bathroom, poor drainage in the shower... But overall we found it bright, modern, well-located and a great design for our family of 4. The best part was the service - it was impeccable. All staff were friendly, kind and more than happy to help with whatever needs we had- a big thank you to the whole team. It was my son’s birthday and they helped make it a special day by putting balloons in the room and getting a cake and candle for us (many thanks to Mehdi).

The place is located far away from the city center and its a good getaway with your family. PROS: - A huge well structured villa, with great view to private swimming pool. - the breakfast in the lobby is really good, not to be missed. - Indeed privacy - Free parking inside the resort. CONS: - Very old furniture and the whole place needs a proper maintenance. - As the resort is huge and everything is far from each other, you need call for golf car to pock you, which it takes time. - No lighting from the main entrance to reach close the lobby. So be carful while driving inside the resort.

Roomy villas and quiet surroundings! The staff we dealt with was friendly.

I do not know what happened to this place. It must have been beautiful but today looks like without soul and maintenance of the rooms. The gardens are fine and the staff polite. But the awful details of an abandoned place is clear.

Very good hotel in a quiet, closed area. Security at the gates and in the area so you can feel safe al the time. Even after dark. Quiet away from very busy city. You will get nice big house with big bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dinning room and living room. Private swimming pool. No more situation when somebody jump on your back when swimming. Housemaid come everyday to clean up house and man clean up swimming pool and garden. Houses are old but keeped in good condition. Very good breakfast with lots of choices. Staff offer marrokan tea. Hotel looking for deposit when you check in. Good SPA with traditional Hammam. We spend great time in this hotel. Free wifi but be carefull is open.

******* advertises misleading info regarding this property: property rules and restrictions; there’s no social distance, floors and walls dirty, villa has sewage smell, tv doesn’t work, coach has dirty stains, kitchen has roaches, living room has AC control unit but no AC, units are not vacant 24 hrs. In between occupancy, sales mgr. Ibtisam and her deputy Bergach lack customer service and hospitality ethics, duty mgr. refused to let us check out even so paid his unapproved dues to let us leave without sending maid to count towels which is not listed on ******* property rules and restrictions —- very very bad property to stay in

First of all the positive of this hotel, is that the villa is spacious and relatively nice. Staff are also nice, if not particularly helpful. Now for the negative: when we arrived, the Wi-Fi was not working, someone had to come the next day to change the equipment which was old. The villa was infested with ants, including in the beds - had to ask for this to be fixed, but was never fully resolved. The shower was leaking very badly downstairs into the kitchen which caused stains on the ceiling, and the cupboard to rot, as well as leaving the kitchen smelling musty for the duration of the stay. We had room service on the second or third night and the plates were left outside our kitchen door for days despite repeated requests to remove. The breakfast is a disaster - there are not enough tables and chairs and you have to stand around with your food in your hands! The gym is another disaster, with only a couple of broken machines with the console hanging off. There were no lounge chairs outside, we kept having to ask to finally get a couple. No umbrellas either! The villa also has a lot of problems like broken doors, flaking plaster, etc. Another issue is that the hotel does not serve alcohol, not even in the restaurant! All in all, was definitely not 5 stars - maybe 2 or 3. To add insult to injury, I asked for a slight later check out but was refused this and had to wait in the common part which is not air conditioned, during the heat of noon! This was the first time and the last that I visit this hotel sadly, which is a shame as I feel with a good management team and a bit of money spent, it has great potential, but as it stands, not recommended at all!
