The Hotel Le Corbusier is an architect's paradise affording a unique experience in this vertical city. With tremendous views to the sea and the mountains, the whole block is remarkably well preserved and has retained its integrity as an experimental way of being. The hotel must be applauded for its authenticity and for trying to keep the spirit of Le Corbusier alive. Don't be put off by the hotel's eccentric service. M****illes is a wonderful city, and we received a warm welcome everywhere else. The hotel is an idiosyncracy, charming and rude at the same time! The building is the real star attraction. The service is odd, very clipped and quite unlike what you might expect. We were told to hurry up and eat our breakfast in five minutes, despite arriving during the hours of service. We were told off for accidentally placing our one allocated croissant on the tray provided. On arrival, they told us we were early even though we only came to drop off bags. Rooms were cleaned during breakfast so it was awkward to return. Don't let the service put you off, the building is definitely worth the visit.

We spent one night in this historical hotel. Our room 442 was like going back in time. From the carpet to the sofa and the Corbusier chair, everything was in the right place to experience le concept Modulor of Le Corbusier. The view from the roof, cafe and the room is great looking at the island. The location, ideal for an event at Velodrome.

I booked for a single night with my wife as we are doing a driving tour of France. The rate of 118€ for the night seemed reasonable and the transaction was completed online. 8 days before I am due to arrive I receive an email from the hotel informing me there was an error on the website and the rate is now 338€ - nearly 3x higher! Absolutely despicable customer service. They should honour the price given it was their error.

The hotel public rooms and bedrooms retain all original features, situated on the third and fourth floors of this building. The decor is kept fresh. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The restaurant evening meal was excellent. The view from the ninth floor rooftop is amazing. Bus stop across the road for access to city centre. Metro ten minute walk away, one change to the old port. Supermarket nearby, lots of cafes bars nearby. We were a group of four adults and two children and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It was very interesting to stay in this architectural landmark that is hailed both as creative genius and as a detrimental concept in terms of impact on the urban landscape. The room was small but the built-ins and views once planned to make small apartments livable work well for hotel guests. The DOWNSIDE of this hotel, other than its distance from the center, is the management, whose attitude conjures up the stereotype of French snobbery and derision. The WiFi in the room was very unreliable and precluded use of our devices most of the time. The hotel owner actually responded to my complaint by saying that we should be there for Le Corbusier, not the WiFi! Unbelievably bad attitude for a hotel proprietor. (Also heard her speak meanly to her employee.) Also, no kettle or coffee maker provided, as we have enjoyed in almost every other hotel we have stayed in France. No even tissues and glasses. Nothing but soap and towels. So - be prepared for lack of service if you stay here and you’d better love Le Corbusier!

The hotel did not provide a quality service: I ended up paying an £50 additional, last minute fee, compared to the original reservation email. All this while I called in advance to explain my situation, had to book online because they would not take my reservation by phone, and I speak French (I am a French national). This is not an hotel worthy of international standards in terms of service. Anne (London)

I do not normally write reviews on the internet, but the Hotel Le Corbusier was so exceptional that I believe it deserves to be much more widely known. It was a thrill to stay in one of the great architectural icons of the modern era. I am not an architect, but architecture provides the basic framework in which we live our lives and I cannot understand how anyone can fail to notice it. At the Cité Radieuse the spirit of the architect permeates the whole building and guests at the hotel are able to see not just the hotel but much of the rest of the building as well. I am unaware of any other great architectural icon that is open in this way. It should be emphasized that the hotel is not, and does not pretend to be, a five-star establishment, so one should not be surprised that some of the facilities popularly associated with five stars are not available. One should instead be grateful that the opportunity to stay in such a remarkable place is available to people of ordinary means. My room was very comfortable, had a spectacular view, and was furnished in the spirit of the architect as much as anyone could hope for in the 21st century. The spirit of the architect was equally apparent in the hotel restaurant ("Le ventre de l'architecte") which was open to non-residents and offered the friendly service and good food that one would expect in a French local restaurant. The hotel reception desk is located in the restaurant, so there is little distinction between restaurant staff and other hotel staff. All of them, however, were invariably friendly, helpful and courteous. There were at least three who spoke English very well and several others who spoke at least some English. They were endlessly patient with my all-too-limited French, and I'm grateful for their advice on correct usage. They also took considerable time to provide directions and the kind of general advice that's always useful to a visitor. Most of them seemed to be aware of the architectural significance of the building, and I had several extended conversations about this with one particularly knowledgeable gentleman. I cannot praise the hotel highly enough, and if I visit M****ille again I would not even consider staying anywhere else.
