Don't stay here. They tout the location as being near the beach which is true but across a big gavel parking lot with no view whatsoever. This is a a cold concrete dorm which could be anywhere. The rooms were clean and quiet but everything in this place is designed to be as cost efficient as possible. Breakfast was a plastic joke. The reception was friendly enough but beyond that staff were rude if available at all. If you want any taste of the good things to be had in Greece go elsewhere.

Hotel Fragiskos is the biggest hotel in Matala village. But isn’t the most modern. It is located on good place. Its services are perfect. It has air condition, parking, bar, hall, dining hall with allinclusive. Only a hotel’s walls are weak and every voices and echoes are hear.

The Frangiskos hotel in Matala, Heraklion is the best or one of the best in the area. It has spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms with an amazingly rich breakfast. Moreover, it is in the best location near the center of Matala and its beautiful beach. And all this at the most reasonable price...

We had a wonderful stay at the Fragiskos hotel! It is a friendly establishment, where it is a pleasure to stay there. The food is good and varied, the staff is always very pleasant. The hotel is in a great location, next to the beach. Matala is a great little village with lots of breathtaking landscapes, for those who like to walk.

Hotel is more than average, a little dated. The rooms could do with a bit of rejuvenation with a bathroom to be overhauled. For your electric razor and/or hair dryer, bring an extension cord because there is no power outlet in the bathroom. There is also no shelf to place your toiletries. In terms of TV, 2 channels in French, France2 and Israel24! The food is repetitive, nothing transcendent. Apart from the cleaning ladies, the staff are not friendly, especially the bartender who laughs when he gets burned. The rooms are not soundproofed, so you can hear everything that is happening next door. If you want to go on excursions, take your safe because you must pay for them in cash.....!,,, at the price of €85 per person on average for excursions, add it up if there are several of you staying ! I do not recommend this hotel, however it is very well located, 50 meters from the beach, restaurants, shops. The positive point is staying in this village which has kept its hippie atmosphere from the 70s. As for the FRAM facilitator, he will only make you smile if you take his proposed excursions.
